side note, i deguned but up-pointed the Triumph so now its definately not 1000 needles shooting at once. more like 200 wooden stakes.
any errors? suggestions? comments?
how do fighters count into an OOB anyway? do we get unlimited fighters or something?

Just as a point of interest, how much does the waste slow down modern warships, with their fancy, expensive, sensors, elaborate starmaps and what-not?

Well, I use a specialized ship to carry myself through them at high speeds...

Okay... though that doesn't really answer the question.

explain to me why someone hasnt attempted to find a safe high speed route through the waste.

Ehm, I reckon this whole "Let's create a Hyperlane for fast and easy travel" part of the thread escaped you, no?

That's what the Hyperlanes on the map are.

ah yes the massive amounts of resourcs required... alirght.
what makes the Old Hyperlanes 'dangerous' if theyre outside pirate territory?

Black holes, debris fields, Corsair Republic vessels..

Kyle wrote:anyway. This is the Kzin Fleet right?
2 Fleet Carriers
8 Fast Carriers
2 Dreadnoughts
4 First Class Battleships
6 Second-class battleships
10 Heavy Cruisers
18 Cruisers
12 Light Cruisers
4 Interdictor Cruisers
40 Heavy Destroyers
360 Destroyer-escorts
10 Landing-Assault Transports
The transports will probably get stuck somewhere safe before the battle, to rendezvous later, being as they're fat targets in a space battle. That comes to 22 capital points, 44 cruiser, and 400 escort. It's a bit overkill for this battle, probably.

Plus space-time itself probably isn't in too good a condition, considering the sort of people that were running around not long ago.

Any chance of something like the Eye of Terror forming in there?

Her name was Halite, if you must know.

No. The psionic/spiritual entities still hanging around(Ascended Beast, the Senshi) would put a stop to that right quick. A small one may exist, of course, if someone wanted to play a Chaos nation.

No such thing

so what is the great waste exactly? a bunch of ship and planetary debris?
What are the chances that all those wrecked ships, their computer cores and powercores will somewhow meld together and reach sentience becoming some horrible mishmash worldship capable of destroying entire fleets?

The results of a war which destroyed intergalactic civilization. Entire star clusters were destroyed in moments in that war. It's pretty much everything bad about space and then some.

Oh, many automated defense systems are still operation, and rip stumbling fleets multiple new ones.

i figured that but what of it? i meant the destroyed for the most part vessels that are just floating slag minus their cores and defenses.
Unrelated to above.
how long does one of these inter PC, NPC wars take? days/weeks/months?

Imagine a crippled hulk, that lacks the guidance to do anything but sit there and defend itself, but can summon energies capable of slicing through solid neutronium at a light-years distance, and has more volume than your entire fleet. Those are the smaller and less dangerous hazards, we are talking about war on an unimaginable scale, conducted by powers that could decide the course of a battle in far less than a second.

Dear LART! And what happened to the people that made these massively powerful vessels of destruction? did they go MAD and their civs fell on each other?

Phong doesn't have individual point values listed for his ships, and since he seem to be busy I don't want to bother him about it so I came up with these values for his cruisers and caps. I just want to see if these seem alright to everyone. Though whenever Phong gets back he can of course redo them, but these will work for now if no one objects
The SD never leaves Nemesis, and since its intended to be a Great War relic it should outgun anything else in space by quite a bit.
Capital Vessels
001 Superdreadnought 7 Points
003 Battleship 5
004 Battlecruiser 3.5 Each
022 Large Cruisers 1 points each 22
030 Total Capital Vessels
Cruisers
030 Heavy Cruisers 1.5
030 Guided Missile Fleet Cruisers 1.5
040 Light Cruisers 1 Points
005 Command Light Cruisers (for Space Guard)1 Point
105 Total Cruisers

Is the SD affected by the 5 point soft cap effect?

probably not considering like he said its a great war relic.
