"Lets see.........as I recall it was the year of the vulture. We had mined out the last of this planet naquida and so were planning to leave. The humans had mixed reactions, last time I was on this planet, 5000 devoted followers had undergone a pilgramge to the temple and were begging me not to leave............of course, Ra was being chased by an agnry lynch mob, so I guess it evens out."

"It was only a temporary measure. Not the best of situations, but it was certainly better for both parties, at least from our point of view, to land peacefully. The initial landing is the deadliest time for both sides in an y invasion"

"Elanie" Artimus said with a broad smile that would make any woman who was not a heartless bitch(the type he REALLY liked) swoon.
"There is the most lovely waltz playing and an empty floor. It would be a shame to leave empty like that. I suppose I am trying to say... may I have pleasure of this dance?" He said while kissing her hand in courtly fashion.
"This talk of politics bores me"

Grand Ball

“Sounds like things are getting interesting, Jon.”

“You really shouldn’t be eavesdropping, Thomas.”

“It’s only eavesdropping if they’re not trying to be heard.”

“Ah, yes. How unfortunate for them that they forgot about the possibility of augmentations, right?” Jon shook his head at his colleague and took a sip from his drink.

“Of course,” Thomas winked to Jon, a subdued smirk playing across his lips.

“You are entirely too eager. You’re acting like a twenty year old, fresh out of uni. We’re the new folks here. Have to wait for the right moment. Ease our way into things. Everything being as volatile as it is now, bouncing around like a schoolchild could give the wrong impression.”

“So would moping in the corner nursing a drink.”

“I’m not moping, I’m surveying the situation. You want to start an international incident, go right ahead. I’ll be hear to clean up your scorched remains.”

“That hurts, Jon. Really. I thought you had a better opinion of me than that,” Thomas smirked again, and Jon silently wondered if it wasn’t too late to get into a shouting match with Radim after all.

"You are excused. I assure you though, we of Monacora are not all human. Especially after we became the refugee nation during the Genocide war. We are not prone to making the same mistakes over and over and over again. And I assure you, the princes are quite set on making sure that no other nation screws up the galaxy as much as some have."

Elanie wasn't a Mata Hari, but she did as ettiquite required.

"But of course. The pleasure would be mine."
She grinned inside. She was going to be waltzing with a man who she had spent half of her life learning how to kill, who worked for a power she found despicable. Politics was a strange beast, indeed.
"I find it strange that the rebels were so well equiped. But then we found the answer to that didn't we. It seems quite clear to me that the revolt was started and supplied from the outside. Tell me, what does your law say about meddling?"
"Really? Our reports, and all the evidence, showed the rebels are being quite poorly equipped- some third-rate offworld guns, stolen weapons, and home-made bombs. As for meddling, I think it's frankly beneath us. The Hajr takes what it needs."

"Thank you my lady"

He thought to himself
She didnt swoon at my smile! My kind of woman!

The music was absolutly wonderful. And so was her touch. He really needed to get out more. All night working, while he was hellishly attractive he literally didnt have time to get laid and hadent for a century.

A third goa'ould represntitive arrives, he's wearing loose-black, clothes. Somthing you would expect at a less formal gathering. He's also wearning a metal headbad that has barely noticible micro-circutry in it. The arcane telepath reads him has a blank spot. He walks straight up to the Arcane represtivie talking to Anuket.

"Hello."

"The Unbound fill the greatest niche- as your Floaters live in the Void, do we. We inhabit the asteroid belts and Oort clouds, building our clusters at L points or over empty worlds. We filll the blackness of space with our teeming life. It is the duty of the Hajr to pave the way for the Diaspora, to prepare systems for their conversion into habitats. We are the pinnacle of evolution, the self-made lifeform that follows nature's call. Our people live free- they live or die as they please, Bondman Major. As is everyone's right- to choose to die fighting is a far lesser evil than to be mind-raped into empty acceptence."

"talk to Karsus, he is the head of state"

He turns, and takes up Elanie's hand and kisses her hand in traditional courtly fashion. The waltz had changed to something a little faster, an old Irish jig, one which he had some skill at dancing.
