The Asgard vote no and wish to use our veto for any chancellorship of the ITA. If any one nations rules the ITA we feel it would put the ITA mission in jeapordy. For that reason we must, and will veto the motion.

The Roman Empire votes no in regards to the ITA chancellorship.
However, we are willing to donate 15 refitted Lupus-class cruisers if we are allowed to sign the Ordino Accords.

You will still have command, the J-Comm commander works out the overall strategy, you work out how you act. For example the J-Comm army commander decides where the army is going to deploy and concentrate, you decide how your army acts, and where it goes. Or we could make it something like J-Comm controls twenty precent of the combined fleets, while you control the rest. Either way is good with me.
Then we will donate twenty frigates, four destroyers, two dreadnaughts, three battleships and one command vessel
EDIT: We are building more military vessels and the total run will be complete within one standard year. Of these we will donate ten out of thirty battleships, twenty out of fourty frigates and three out of sixteen dreadnaughts

You were invited, you have every right to join and request changes to be made, no need to offer "payment" for enterence.

Absolutly! The Romans fought as hard, and paid as dearly, as any have for the right to be admitted. On that note:
ATTN: All former combatant nations
Three days from now the Zarathrustran Military Cluster Hercules, which has relocated to the sight of the battle between the Kokand and Floater fleet 1 AU above the sol system Ecliptic, will be the sight of a ceremony comemerating the dead of all sides in the recent war.
A ceremonial beacon, made from the wreckage of some of the unsalvageable ships on the scene, will freecast the names of every man, woman, and child killed in the fighting, on a low-frequency band, until the end of time. This beacon is to assure that no one forgets the consequences of their actions. All to easily, those on high can forget that their mistakes exact prices not in influence, power, or money, but in human lives.
We ask that representatives from all factions of the fighting come to the commemoration ceremony, which will be held on the Hercules military cluster. Accomodations willl be made for those who prefer high-gravity environments

The emperor will personally attend the ceremony, as will admiral connor since he was the one who lead our forces into battle. Should we send a simpe shuttle or a destroyer with full honor guard?

Either will be acceptable. Our representative will arrive on the Strike Cruiser "Osiris," a vessel which survived the battle, with a full honor guard of Marines.

DE Head of state Alyrium Denryle will personally attend. We seek permission to do a 21 gun salute to the fallen. Courtesy of railguns towed into system.

Then we shall send the
Argo-class battleship
Pride of covelan, as it was admiral connor's flagship during the battle and scored numerous Kokand kills

To our sorrow, many of those killed by the Kokand attack are unidentified.
The Emperor himself will attend.

The Asgard government disagrees with the policy regardless of who holds the chancellorship. Such power in what ought to be a democratic body is bound to corrupt.

Though I realise our two nations have faced hard times in the past, I would like to ask you why you have declined attending the memorial service. It seems likely to me that if you decline, your allies in the New Beijing Alliance would follow your lead, and what was meant to be a chance for people of all nations to stand together in mourning, and in celebration of our common humanity, could turn to simply be a meeting of Floater-allied powers at the sight of a carnage which many, wrongfully or otherwise, attribute to the NBA.
This would be horrifically counterproductive, and would cheapen the lives which were lost.
I ask you to rethink your decision to decline the invitation.

The Minmatar withdraws it's request for NBA membership.
The OU would beg the Minmatar to reconsider it's decision.
It was one of the hardest decisions we have ever had to make. As our representative has been nominated for chancellorship of the ITA it is important that we retain absolute neutrality in order to maintain imparciality in all ITA matters. If we are to carry the interstellar economy through to success it is important that the other nations are confident in our ability to do so. Trust is the most important factor in any business relationship and the Minmatar are willing to go to great lengths to maintain the level of trust that exceeds between our peoples.
However, this does not mean that the Minmatar will refuse all dealings with the NBA. What is does mean is that we will be able to interact with the NBA as a single cohesive unit, rather then on an individual nation by nation basis. Imagine the ITA and the NBA working together, the center of free trade in the known universe and the defenders of peace working together ensuring peace and prosperity for all.

{ANN - Asgard Admiralty}
The Admiralty announced today that the Black Forest, lead ship of her class, three cruisers, and eight frigates went missing between Sol and Vahalla. There is no immediate word beyond the initial announcement though rumor swirl around the Admiralty and Imperial Palace. No one will go on record.
The Black Forest was lightly damaged in the defense of Earth and was heading to the Trondhiem Naval Ships Yards for a few small repairs. Her escorts were all newly returned from the yards around Mars and were in top condition.
So far the only constant in the rumor mill is the insistance that the Black Forest and her battlegroup made a transmission to the Admiralty before she went missing. Speculation is running high and no two people are giving the same story. The leading theory suggests an ambush by enemy forces. That is absolutely not confirmed by any official source.
It's likely we will find out more at the press conference slated for earlier this afternoon.

Might I propose making the Chancellorship a rotating office between the veto holding powers? That way all sides could be chancellor, and no accusations of an un-democratic proccess could be made.

We find that suggestion far more palatable, but we would like the Minmatar to be the first to hold office. No other empire has shown itself to be more dedicated to the ITA.

The OU questions the need for a chancellorship in what is an organization whose purpose is to promote trade. While trust is to be greatly treasured, neutrality is not necessarily a prerequsite for trust between two nations.

"Admiral Jefferies?"
"Yes, Bondwoman Councilor."
"I assume you have completed your report?"
"I have, Bondwoman Councilor."
"It appears that a task force of Kokander warships have gone missing."
"The Black Forest class Dreadnought "Black Forest," along with three cruisers and eight Frigates, has gone missing."
"We suspect that it may be that their officers supported the old Kokand regime, and were simply waiting for the right time to mutiny."
"The good news is, no carriers left with them. Any Task Force in the fleet could take them. Our holdings are secure."
"We are worried about their commerce raiding abilities, though."
"We no longer have enough warships to patrol all the extrasystem space lanes. It will be at least three months until that situation is remedied, when the majority of out fleet will be out of the 'docks."
"Until then, I suggest that the Office of Special Tasks use it's.... unconventional.... resources to gather what information they can on the officers of those vessels, and investigate the situation as a whole."
"Thank you, Bondman Admiral Jefferies."
