Admiral_K wrote:Good chapter, but a little criticism if I may:
I think the part about the "New Empire" is a little bit contrived. Thrawn could have had other ways of figuring out Nemesis' plan, but I think it was just a little bit too easy with him flying in and announcing in the name of the "New Empire" when he just as easily could have said "The Empire" and then Thrawn jumping to a conclusion with very little evidence.
Anyway, thats just my thoughts.
Again, good chapter as always.
You have to wonder if Nemesis didn't do it on purpose....he may be trying to force the issue. Just food for thought

Go Thrawn!! Woohoo! For God's sake.. kill Kirk already!
And by creating that rift, did Wesley do something even more nasty to the already decaying Universe?

Might we see the Shadow Fleet again soon?
Any hint of what happened to the Cardassians and the rest of the Dominion?
Boba Fett....

Oh DAMN!! I can't wait to see the next encounter between Kirk and Thrawn. Of course I can't wai to see what Luke er Nemesis and Vader have in store for Plapy and Thrawn. But my question is how does Kahn fit into all of this... or the shadow fleet?

19 Ships left? Damn that some serious losses

I don;t have any problems, but it would be hard for me to think that Thrawn would side with the Emperor against Vader, especially the Vader/Nemesis combo.
Khan seems to be overstepping some of his bounds though, i wouldn't be surprised if he were killed soon.

Jerjerrod winced as he felt the throbbing of the headache. It had started last night. The pain had awoken him. The sharp dull throb had begun in his ear and quickly spread to his temples. But soon the pain had subsided but he felt groggy, as if he had never really woken up since that night.
He briefly considered going to the physician for a checkup, Emperor knew what sort of bacterium and viruses abounded in this cesspool of a galaxy.
He did not notice the veiled interest in which Kahn observed him.
Ceti Alpha 5 bugs! ARRRRGGGHHHHHH!
This is odd. From the impression I got from WOK, the effect of those disgusting creatures were more or less, immediate. Shouldn't Jerjerrod have a blank-ass look on his face?

Brilliant.
Absofuckinglutely brilliant.
I love the Wesley inner conflict, the scene between Nemisis and Vader, Wesley taking back over... man, that was incredible.
I'm curious, though, where you got the whole possession idea?

To be honest...it just sounded cool and it allowed me to set up the whole inner Wesley dialogue. But if you're looking for some EU justification we can look to Palpy's body jumping (Ugh did I HATE that storyline)

Maybe Kahn was just noticing his discomfort? Could it be like what happened to Captain Pealleon or General, dammit.. what's his name.. who C'Boath was manipulating?

Interesting.
Where things stand:
*Cardies are relatively unaccounted for in this war.
*Majority of the Klingon fleet was wiped out, along witn most of the race (odd that the guy who encouraged Worf to have them die like warriors also wanted him to then safe the species after killing most of them off)
*Most of Kirk's offensive fleet was wiped out (just about 97% casualties... ouch) and the rest are extremely damaged. Looks like they must lie low for a while (was that the entire fleet, or just part of it?)
*Purgeing is continuing towards earth.
*Andor remains unmolested
*The Shadow fleet is unaccounted for (presumably they will be fighting while Kirk lays low and or they will make contact and unite)
*Kirk's survivors fled in a manner similar to that in which 7, Cpt Archer, and the borg queen did, perhaps they will meet that way and unite (perhaps the borg have something to offer)
*Dominion is now riled up, but has no way to reach the AQ quickly as of now
*Boba Fett is unaccounted for
*Kahn is doing stuff
*The Section 31 Assassin is unaccounted for
*The Death Star is coming...
Thoughts for the future:
Luke plays CYA by claiming New Empire is a term used by the Provincials as it replaced the Romulan Star Empire
Someone is goign to do something about the fleet going to earth. Either the Shadow fleet or someone will stop it, or the DS2 will by getting there first.
Kittane will have a showdown with Thrawn over the Grand Admiral thing.
The Triumverate must deal with Kirk
The Dominion will be out for blood now
There will be a confrontation among the sith.
The ending of the universe will be dealt with in some fashion (either by leaving things to their fate, restoring it, or something)
Mara will have to choose between the Emperor and Luke
The captured Federation Captain will be dealt with.
The Death Star will be handled.
The Twilight War is coming.

Dear God...that was SUCH a great chapter Stravo.
I'm posting replies in order of appearnace in the chapter:
1. I do think that Jerjerrod is a moron...He can't figure out why Thrawn is extending this fight? Geez...
2. Poor Kirk...being forced to jump loops for Thrawn...hehehe.
3. That inner conflict in Wesley was AMAZINGLY done Stravo, I LOVED every word in it. You should be VERY proud of that part.
4. I sense that Vader and Nemesis will have some problems shortly...hehehe.
5. Damn...I'd thought it was the Shadow Fleet that was there..not those annoying Klingons.
6. GREAT fight between Wesley and Dairoga, you did some amazing things with Wesley before killing him.
7. Charlie is showing himself to be quite powerful....quite powerful indeed.
8. 19 ships eh...I have a feeling that the next few chapters will boost that number QUITE a bit....
So far you've kept to what I thought you would...generally anyway. Boba Fett hasn't been mentioned in awhile, Picard hasn't been mentioned, Archer hasn't been mentioned...who else...
Anyway, GREAT chapter Stravo I loved every minute of it.

Given that Wesley has run his course and died, how about i resurect my thread based on peoples opinion of Wesley in this fic?

I'd be interested to see what people thought, personally even I felt sorry for the guy. He was just trying to be his own man and in a very human way fucked it all up...but in a very heroic manner, cleaned it up again.
BTW In case people accuse me of cheating in future chapters I just want to make it clear here and now that the 600 ship fleet Kirk went to Romulus with was a large task force NOT the entire Federation remnant fleet. It was a HUGE loss but it did not constitute Kirk's entire resources. Rememeber, he has access to what ever was left of Starfleet at the time of the Battle for Sector 001.
However, Thrawn will soon be rectifying that....

Coolness...so far it seems you're heading towards some sense of closure as the majority of the players are stepping forward and claiming positions
All's left is what the Emperor and Gary will throw into the mix with the DS2.

I've been waiting for Q to say "Enough's enough" and I am happy with the results. It's about time Q started taking a more active role and fighting back against Gary.

I couldn't help my self, Stravo.

Painkillers are not an extreme high technology.

It's so exciting. Kirk has suffered a major defeat, and Thrawn is pissed. As for Jerjerrod, it's possible that the bugs crawled into him while the man was asleep. No screaming if he doesn't know what's going on. I want to see somebody get strangled, a la Vader.

What is the Federation's current fleet? Everytime they've fought hundreads of ships have died. 97% cassualties is amazingly horrid.

That's not my point. You'd FEEL that bug, and you'd know something was wrong instantly, not just some headache.
And Yoshi, I don't buy that sleeping line. How the hell did Kahn sneak into his room unnoticed if that were the case?

Ah, so Jerrijod has been boozing it up with Kahn & Co.? Bullshit. Thrawn would KNOW it. And I have the feeling that type of contact is forbidden for the higher-ups.
