We are deeply saddened by your refusal to participate in the memorial. We would ask if you have a message you would like us to carry on your behalf.

The Asgard government disagrees with the policy regardless of who holds the chancellorship. Such power in what ought to be a democratic body is bound to corrupt.
Therefore an additional power shall be granted to the veto carrying members of the ITA. Should a vote of no confidence be cast by a majority of the founding members the Chancellor shall be immediately stripped of his Chancellorship. A vote of no confidence may be proposed by any ITA member. Consider this a signed pre-chancellorship decree that goes into effect immediately upon election and is irreversible after it is effective.

This will hold for all future Chancellors.

The OU questions the need for a chancellorship in what is an organization whose purpose is to promote trade. While trust is to be greatly treasured, neutrality is not necessarily a prerequsite for trust between two nations.
Organisation has been one of the issues that the ITA has faced for quite some time, especially given that in less then four hours the ITA is going to have 18 members. Chancellorship solves this problem by providing a means of mediation in disputes between members, hence the need for total neutrality. Chancellorship also provides an opportunity for the ITA to act as a single cohesive entity which allows it to interact with the interstellar economy which in turn enhances its ability to promote free trade.

{ANN - Admiralty Press Conference}

Vice Admiral Anderman stepped up to the podium, ignoring the clamor from the press.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I have come to anounce that as of 1500 hours fourteen ships of the Asgard Imperial Navy have been declared missing.

They are now three days overdue and searchs have begun of their last know position. They have found a large debris feild in an unoccupied system short of the border. We have sent experts to exam them but we are not jumping to any conclusions. We are not ruling out any possibilities."

With that the Admiral turned and left the breifing room. The press howiling behind him.

The OU has decided to not officially attend the Floater memorial service.

We would like once again to say that while we have arranged this memorial, it is a service for all. We will freecast the names of those killed on both sides of the engagement, NBA soldier, Ionian fishwife, Floater Grand Admiral, all will be treated equally in rhis broadcast.

This is not a Floater memorial service.

As the memorial approached, the DE astronomers carefully calculated the course of each shot from the railguns so that the ammunition did not strike a single ship, planet, or instalation

RE: Jump Gates

The DE seeks permission to construct Jumpgates into your space for ease of miliary access to your systems. This will also allow your ships to use our form of FTL to get to allied systems, without the worry of pirate attacks or being interdicted.

by Thirdfain
We of course accept. Cant they be used by our vessels as well, to reach your systems?

by Alyrium Denryle
Yes they can be.

by Thirdfain
Hmmm. This give our admirals an idea. We will place some of our Military Clusters at the jumpgates among our allied systems. That way, the Gates will all be guarded, and it will be easy to rapidly mobilize our fleets to support our allies.

We will move in the Military Clusters as you deploy the gates, and we will start assigning fleets to them once more of our vessels are out of the repair slips.

You are well aware of the possible military applications of gump points I am sure.

We understand the advantages, and the dangers, of linking our systems with jump-points.

We can set the jumpoints so that only ships with a certain code can use them. And so far as I know, the DE is the only nation that uses this form of FTL.

I believe you are right.

This is marks a new age in unity and military potence. OA members will be able to come to eachother's aid in a fraction of the time it used to take.

Elsewhere:

"So this is the theoritical basis, and plans for the DE's jumpgate?" asked the man in the black trench coat.

"Yes, it's all on that disk," answered the reptilian humanoid. "The complete history of our FTL experiments are also on there. Now where's my money?"

The man in the trench coat merely smilied. The quiet whine of a pulsar was briefly audible, and then the former spy fell over, dead. The officer quickly strode off to catch his flight back to OU space.

The disk explodes, horribly wounding the OU officer. As the left leg of the officer was blown to pieces, he remembered a snippet of an intel report on the DE " Betrayal is not in their vocabulary"

(OOC: better than your original response. However, I'm doubting that all of your species will act exactly alike. Look at the vast variety of responses a human would have. And why would the DE have a warfleet then?)

The officer gets back up. Good thing I my left leg got replaced with an implant last year. It'll survive nearly anything short of something that would destroy the building it's in. Too bad about having to shoot that guy, he'd been a good source. Good thing I'm not the only one who was supposed to get this information.

Rotation of Chancellorship will commence whenever and as often as people wish it. It is doubtless that the position will be rotated, voting for our representative merely starts the process.

"Sir, it seems that the OU agent has some time that was not logged in"

""What?"

"Take a look"

*looks over logs*

"By the wrath of eagles...."

"What is it sir?"

"The humans have a word for this...betrayal"

"What does it mean?"

"When a person gives crucial information to a hostile power, or kills someone that trusted them for his own personal gain...this is the first incedent we have had with it in our entire history if I am not mistaken... It is good the information he had access to was not complete"

"Bring me my shuttle, I must talk to the Floaters"
