Not Monacora, just me, the Vampires, and the assorted Accord powers. So far, we've been pretty cordial.
Get your fill of sci-fi, science, and mockery of stupid ideas

And that'd be whose fault, again? Yeah, that's right. Tycho's, for utterly surrendering when he didn't have to. I didn't want to destroy his nation, just his ability to effectively threaten his neighbors. But nooooooo, he has to fold and make a new nation one day into the war...Thirdfain wrote:Frankly, its a FAR nicer place than the Alliance's little occupation effort in Ix'agal...

Even so, 4 powers where there was 1? Sounds crowded to me, especially since no one in their right minds trust 2 of the 4 powers there...
Why not trust us? The Ousters' history of altruism rivals your own. We freed Camaro and Jardan from symbiote opression, spent large amounts of resources in assisting the people of Earth, providing hospitals for millions, and were a major player in the Unification against the Overseer. Hell, even the Nashtari admirals workeed well with the Ousters in that engagement.Even so, 4 powers where there was 1? The harshly ineffective occupation of Ix'agal has a lot more to do with it. It would have been much harder to incite revolt if the Arcanists hadn't imposed the dumbest regime EVER.And that'd be whose fault, again? Yeah, that's right. Yeah, the Arcanist occupation strategy was pretty dumb, but it wouldn't have been necessary at all if Tycho hadn't wussed out.The harshly ineffective occupation of Ix'agal has a lot more to do with it. By me, trying to keep you bastids on your toes- not by the Ouster officers who worked with them. Individual ousters think for themselves, and are quite capable of working off of the party line, especially the powerful ones.Yeah, and get to be called spineless for it...

I've noticed that the state of Draconis political discourse is extremely primitive. Your ambassadors use profanity in dealings with other nations and insult opposing ambassadors openly, and apparently your populace carries around rotting food for the sole purpose of throwing things at politicians.
And what the fuck is the complaint against the senator commentary from Thirdfain?
Senator--"We've been made a victim of terrorism and something should be done to demonstrate that we won't stand for it and will punish those who attack us."
People--"WE HATE YOU! WE MUCH PREFER TO LAY DOWN AND WAIT FOR SWEET DEATH!"
Dude... 15 min after 9/11 did you see senators trying to do anything other than grieve? Imagine if John McCain had been killed in New York that day, would members of the senate be on a podium assigning blaim, and trying to advertize proposed legistlation? Fuck no.Thirdfain wrote:Or maybe,
"This clearly isn't working. Our people need to do something about this, and crying won't help. The Republic must not fall. Pushing my own agenda? Yeah, sure. My agenda is, protect the Republic and ensure our safety and freedom!"
Umm... yes we did. There were many senators demanding immediate action and revenge and punishment for our enemies, whoever they might be.Alyrium Denryle wrote:Dude... 15 min after 9/11 did you see senators trying to do anything other than grieve?
Actually 15 min later they were in a bunker IIRCPablo Sanchez wrote:Umm... yes we did. Don't try to play semantic games... and I would expect that a shitload of senators were discussing loudly and clearly how they were going to totally fuck up the terrorist bastards responsible for 9/11, while they were in the bunker.Alyrium Denryle wrote:Actually 15 min later they were in a bunker IIRC
I'm pumping out some ships really fast right now, but they're basically boxes with interdictors in them. Stopgap measures, more or less.Stormbringer wrote:Just a word to all this so hastley commisioning ships, the faster ships are turned out the less powerful they're assumed to be. If the bomb wasnt a nuke, it isnt like we COULD clear a massive metropolis that is the capitol of all sentient life.Pablo Sanchez wrote:Don't try to play semantic games... and I would expect that a shitload of senators were discussing loudly and clearly how they were going to totally fuck up the terrorist bastards responsible for 9/11, while they were in the bunker.Alyrium Denryle wrote:Actually 15 min later they were in a bunker IIRC
Anyway it's been hours at least in-game, because the capitol has evidently been cleared for entry.
I placed the orders. They're going to be produced in smaller increments, not all at once. That order will be over an in-game year before every ship is complete. That's all the ships I still need to round out my fleet deployment order, so I put the numbers I'd need down now. Don't expect them all done within the month or anything.Stormbringer wrote:Just a word to all this so hastley commisioning ships, the faster ships are turned out the less powerful they're assumed to be. Capitol means a building.Alyrium Denryle wrote:If the bomb wasnt a nuke, it isnt like we COULD clear a massive metropolis that is the capitol of all sentient life.
Ah, I stand corrected.Pablo Sanchez wrote:Capitol means a building.Alyrium Denryle wrote:If the bomb wasnt a nuke, it isnt like we COULD clear a massive metropolis that is the capitol of all sentient life.
Capital means city.
I know, it's just I'm seeing some people turning out fairly hefty batches of supposedly top notch warships. And I figured it was worth pointing that fact out to them.Pablo Sanchez wrote:I'm pumping out some ships really fast right now, but they're basically boxes with interdictors in them. It's not so much the number of the total ordered, for instance the Asgard wish to return to Genocide War levels of tonnage, but rather the speed with which you turn them out. Focusing on smaller batches at a faster pace is acceptable but your batches aren't that small.Rogue 9 wrote:I placed the orders. They're going to be produced in smaller increments, not all at once.
