Well, I could change it. It's a low-scale one, at any rate. Can't crack a planetary shield, can really only hit one city if there is no shield. And it can't move, has no hyperdrive or heavy ion engines.Stormbringer wrote:Crayz, three weeks for a fucking superlaser? You've got to be shitting me.

No, but diplomatic pressure can be a real bitch. And you did hose a number of planets and slaughter their inhabitants (and not even in time of war).Dahak wrote:But then I'm still in prime condition As are my fleets and defenses. So in other words simply a really heavy capital warship beam? Okay, that's a bit more reasonable. I didn't understand exactly what you were doing with it.Crayz9000 wrote:Well, I could change it. Yes, pretty much. It's an anti-capship weapon, designed to blast superlaser ships before they can blast you.Stormbringer wrote:So in other words simply a really heavy capital warship beam? Okay, that's a bit more reasonable. I didn't understand exactly what you were doing with it.

I don't see how "diplomatic pressure" would do anything to them. They're independent, and are pretty happy to totally plunge into their isolationism again. It's not like they're integrated in the galaxy...Stormbringer wrote:No, but diplomatic pressure can be a real bitch. But it would be fun to see it happen

I see no reason why we should grant the PRC magic immunity to being tracked when moving a large fleet around. Giving them such just makes any attempt to disable their superweapon impossible, and quite goes against what I intended for such.

Alright, all though I still protest the fact that he pulled it essentially out of no where.SirNitram wrote:I see no reason why we should grant the PRC magic immunity to being tracked when moving a large fleet around. Maybe he fired it at an area target and just got really, really, really lucky?Thirdfain wrote:Oh and Stormbringer? An anti-planet superlaser, at missile range, firing through heavy ECM, will score 4 direct hits? Bullshit.

The perhaps you out to mention the casualties. Because I didn't see any credible mention of them.Thirdfain wrote:Re-read my posts. My fleets are engaged with the Cornerians currently, taking casualties, but with a significant upper hand.Thirdfain, are you just going to ignore the three fleets at Corneria? You might close to energy range but can't just say "swatted aside" the opposition of three fleets.

Beowulf's superlaser is rather analgous to an Ecplise, and it probably could fix the ships well enough at missle range. ECM isn't a magic sheild you know.Thirdfain wrote:Oh and Stormbringer? An anti-planet superlaser, at missile range, firing through heavy ECM, will score 4 direct hits? Bullshit.
You can't just go "I have ECM, you can't hit me!"
It's still an energy weapon moving at lightspeed, not an FTL weapon or a homing weapon. Over the kind of ranges missiles are used at in the STGOD and the acceleration the ships are capable of accuracy would be pretty piss poor.Stormbringer wrote:
