I'm not saying that destroying it wasn't dumb, but simply saying 'it's wasteful' isn't really that good of an argument against doing something for amusement. It's rather hard to see it as wasteful for a pure luxury item, which by most definitions is automatically wasteful.

Not when you could've sold it on for more money to buy two later on, or buy something else. If the guy wants to throw away the money he's mustered, then so be it. Doesn't stop me calling it a fucking stupid thing to do which could've had numerous better outcomes than "Wow! Lookit! I'm trashing this console on the intarwebs!!1! I'm so fucking hardcore!".

Actually, no. Since even if the PS3 did come out now, I'd not touch it till the price was at least two-hundred bucks cheaper. I may want a PS3 for a certain couple of games eventually, but I'm not about to cut-me-own-throat for the privilege of a half-finished product.

I find it funny the general reaction to the Wii's smashing was cheering, clapping and laughing, and the general reaction to the PS3's was booing, crying and moaning.

It's hardly "fucking garbage." It's more or less just an overpriced XBox 360.

Not yet. Launch titles suck. We'll see what happens after the PS3 has some time to mature (maybe next year).

MSG4 has nothing for it's sake in the graphics department anymore, it's gotten massive downgrades everytime a "gameplay" demo is shown. The latest screenshots from japan makes it look pretty damn average, about CoD 2 level, except browner, much, much browner.

A direct port might not work, but why should that be a problem? RE4 was ported to an inferior platform - as long as the gameplay remains intact it doesn't really matter if the visuals take a hit.

How would MGS work on the Wii anyway?
