"What opportunities?" Kyle was intrigued. "If it is a worthwile opportunity for the clan - and I'm the last to say no if there is something in it for me, as well - who am I to decline?"

"The prince's policies have apparently let diablerists walk among us. Both the Sherrif and the Scourge are now hunting himor them," Deveraux continued. "If someone else where to find them first, their would be a shift in power and status, especially for the hero who was able to aid the community in such a manner."

Mark's ears perked for a brief moment at the mention of diablerists, but played his hand close to his chest for now. Absently, Mark moved away from the painting he had been examining and moved away, finding in his path Franco and Jack. He gave them both quick nods of hello and then came to a stop as he seemed to notice the new kindred.

"Excuse me, but I don't believe we've met." Mark extended a hand to the new kindred "Mark Bianci, clan Lasombra."

Kergan seemed to absorb all the details about the Kindred who approached him in the span of a blink of an eye, looking him into the eyes steadily afterward with a calm smile. He noticed Mark's extended hand, but didn't return the gesture.

"Forgive me, but I don't shake hands. I am pleased to meet you though, Mark. My name is Kergan Prasad, of Clan Assamite. Are you here as a full Camarilla citizen as well?"

Mark smiled some as he dropped his hand again. He seemed completely unphased that an Assamite was here, nor did he seem worried about their diablerist tendencies. "I am indeed a member of this proud organization. Though I am here to deal with... outside forces."

Mark took a step back. "You may want to watch yourself, there are rumours of diablerists about." The tone was clear, Kergan had picked a very bad time to show himself, and he would be watched by many, including Mark himself.

"If someone were to find them before the Sherrif and the Scourge, why then we would have to question if the city was best served by having Wright's lap dogs in those posts. That would, of course, alter the balance of power and would result in considerable gratitude being expressed to certain parties."

Keeping his gaze steady and calm, Kergan replied carefully after a brief pause. "Thank you for the warning, I'll keep my senses sharp." He paused again, with a smile. "I certainly wouldn't want to judge a book by it's cover, under these circumstances."

Kyle thought about it for a few seconds. "And when the power shifts around here, and someone like, say you, might end in a even more powerful position, those helping to bring it about would climb with that personaccordingly." He smiled wickedly. "As you know, I never shy away from a challenge. Do you have any further information that might be useful?" He leaned closer to her. "And should it involve other Kindred not of our Clan, we wouldn't be terribly sorry about any accidents?" he whispered.

Meanwhile, a satisfied neonate was leaving a party. The girl had been lovely, but really she could have been ugly, cruel and spiteful so long as she'd had a few pints of blood going spare. Unfortunately, Mike did like her and so he was feeling a little guilty. That's unlife for you. Perhaps he'd send her some flowers. Or a better gift would be to just leave her alone, but that's a depressing thought. Humans are often so much better company than other vampires.

He found himself wandering aimlessly along the nearly deserted streets. Occasionally he'd pass a group of students on the way to or from a bar or party. A man followed him for a short while,perhaps just walking the same way, or perhaps a mugger trying to gather courage. If he was a mugger then he wasn't a very good one, having been so easily spotted, and he was also a coward since when Mike looked backwards again the man was gone.

The streets began to look quite familiar again. Without quite realising it, Mike had found himself walking towards his Sire's bar. He was feeling almost nervous now. While he respected his Sire, and sometimes even liked him, he also sometimes hated him. His Sire's behaviour reflected that ambivalence surprisingly well. Sometimes he seemed indifferent, sometimes friendly, sometimes withdrawn and sometimes even a little paternal. That's unlife for you. And some had it a lot worse.

Well, now he was here he might as well enter the bar, dive though it was. With any luck none of Jason's terribly stereotypical Brujah anarch palls would be hanging around. They weren't quite frightening, but they weren't exactly good company either.

Sighing, he pushed open the door and stepped inside.

Franco was just pulling out his cell phone to start looking for Bobby Kingman's address when the Lasombra joined the group. Listening to the pointed introduction, he chuckled and decided against the call for the time being.

"Still trying to intimidate by dropping your clan, Marky-boy?" he shook the other man's hand, smiling. "That only works with fledglings and shut-ins."

"So, how's that little boat of your?" he switched gears but didn't stay there for long, not waiting for an answer.

"Listen. Did you know Bob Kingman much? Know where he lived?"

Mark grinned some as he responded to two of the questions. "It's simply polite to inform others of ones proud parentage, though I will admit the intimidation is always a nice perk." Mark spoke a little softer, "And just because you don't find it frightening doesn't mean some of the primogen aren't still as worked up over my parentage as they are yours." Mark smirked at this.

Mark moved on to the last part of Franco's usually jumpy conversations. "Kingman?" Mark thought for a moment. "Nothing comes to mind, he was a Brujah yes? I think I've worked with him in the past a few times but purely coincidental."

"Like I said," Franco returned to the primogen comment, pulling out his phone and pressing a speed-dail number. "Shut-ins."

"Now let's see if my idiot cousin fronting Anubus Security, who's supposed to have his ear against all the right walls in the city, can manage to find one man's address. I tell you guys, every night I wake up and one of them has done something to fuck around with one of the businesses. Family. If I didn't have Tony around watching my back I'd have to kill the lot of them."

He looked around the room absently as he waited for the other side to pick up.

"Brad," he spoke into the phone. "How you doin', Buddy? Yeah? Anyway, I need to find the address of a Bobby Kingman. He'd be on my side of things. That's right. See what you can find. I'll hold the line."

"Shit," Franco said. "Alright. Talk to you later."

He put the phone away and shrugged to the others. "No success, of course, but it was worth a shot. Now I'm really curious about this thing though. Somebody had to know where the guy lived."

He looked around again and spotting Jim, made his way over to the man.

"James," he said in a low voice. "I just heard this thing about Kingman. You don't know where his place was, do you? I'd like to check it out. See if he's still floating around there. Get to the bottom of this myself, you know. People keep dropping the D word but I've heard that shit before. Just because he's drained dry doesn't mean they got his soul. He might still be able to tell me who did it."

"Well then," Kyle smiled, "I would have to go now I think. Hypothetically speking of course." He pointed at the female Ventrue standing near them. "She is new here, and she hasn't been properly introduced. If you would be so kind?"
He nodded to Devereaux and made his way to the exit. He politely nodded at the people as he went and immediately got to his car. Taking out the card again, read the adress again and then drove off.

Kyle managed to slip through Downtown's notoriously bad traffic and into the city proper, not that he was going to be there for long. The deceased lived in sub urbs of Surrey, which meant a half hour drive with favorable traffic. Fortunately, the worst of the traffic was gone by this time of night and he was able to make good time. Soon enough the vampire was parked not to far from Kingman's modest house.

Looking at the house, he wrinkled his nose. Not something up to his high standards. The places some people actually considered living in...

He carefully scanned the building, looking for anything suspicious, listening if he heard something out of the ordinary.
