How typical of anti-science morons; these are the same fucktards who tell scientists that they don't understand how science is supposed to be done.

The really funny thing about his idiotic "no engineer would design something that runs at 1% capacity most of the time" argument is that he's posting it from a home internet connection which probably runs at less than 1% of its capacity most of the time. Internet surfing traffic is typically what engineers refer to as "bursty". When you're not actually downloading something, it's pretty much idle.
They must really think mother nature is the mother of all fuck ups since we only use like 10% of our actual brainpower on a daily basis ... and why even the possibility of an accelerated heart rate... silly overengineering.

You can tell he read a little bit about how engineering is done, ie- you build to requirements and then you add a moderate safety factor. And then he totally misinterpreted it, which is what stupid little posers tend to do. He didn't realize that "requirements" means peak requirements, not average requirements. You design an electrical system to handle its peak load plus a margin of safety, not just its average load. You design a car engine to handle its peak power requirements, not just its average power requirements (this is why we don't drive around in 30 horsepower cars). You design a bridge to handle its maximum capacity, not its average load. If a little-used bridge has an average load of less than one car, this doesn't mean you can actually design it to handle only one car.

Honestly, this is as obvious as the nose on your face, and one doesn't even need any kind of education to understand it. This kiddie is just an idiot.

Someone might want to tell Novadork that the Wizards E-Mail I got lied to me, I can't create a new account, and I tried to do so on my sisters to see if they were saying I could come back with an alternative name, but either my e-mail isn't working or they've banned me forever. He's accusing everyone that's arguing against Sarli of being a sock puppet.

Why should one waste time on defending from stupid accusations like sock puppetry? The idiot got more attention than he deserved by throwing accusations like that. I'd just ignore the fucker, he's not worth my time.

He also moderates on the Wizards.COMmunity message boards as WizO the Hutt, cheerfully feeding Code of Conduct violators to the Sarlacc. Gary recently opened GMSarli Games, an online retailer specializing in non-random miniatures packs designed for the Star Wars Roleplaying Game."

Because of this position he's been allowed to take control of development for the Saga Editions Ruleset (Think of this as a second revision for the D20 SWRPG Rules), this puts him in charge of fluff, and therefore gives him some authority on what to make canon.

It's interesting that he so glibly dismisses Saxton's scientific qualifications and calculations despite being totally unqualified to do this kind of work himself. And he is thoroughly unapologetic after demonstrating that not only is he unqualified, but he is clearly so ignorant that he makes huge order-of-magnitude mistakes on the kinds of things that any high-school kid could have checked on Google. Is this arrogance, or dishonesty?

Given what I've seen in various debates, I'd say both. Or perhaps they delude themselves into truly believing the crap they're spewing.

I love the way he claims that by targeting fault lines and volcanoes he can easily get the planet to do "30-80% of the work for you." In other words, he's going to get the planet, at a bare minimum, to release energy equivalent to some... 60 million Krakatoa eruptions.

You can't make this shit up.
He must have thought that Wing Commander was a scientific documentary.
Or he watched Superman: The Movie (where Lex Luthor plans to wipe out the west coast by dropping an atomic bomb on the San Andreas Fault) and thinks it's real.
:wanker:

As far as burning arable land is concerned, someone should tell this asshole to open a grade school-level American History textbook. What will he find out? That the plains Indians used to torch the prairies to induce plant growth, since so many plants in the region evolved (Oh wait, we're dealing with creationists, aren't we?) to the point where they benefit from wildfires. Some of the grasses need the huge fires to clear off debris and scatter their seeds. To this day, farmers is Mexico set countless square miles of grassland and brush alight before new planting.

This guy is one dumb twat.

Technically, that statement is false. Unless you're doing absolutely nothing but just lying in bed, any complex action like driving and talking will activate more than 10% of your brain. :P

That clown is claiming he's an engineer. Pfft. Someone needs to tell him not to generate unreadable posts quoting every part of his opponents argument just to offer a half-line comment. What an asshole.

What's his alma mater and year of graduation, which engineering association does he belong to, and what's his real name? It shouldn't be too hard to look him up. Unless he refuses to divulge that information, in which case I see no reason to take his claimed qualifications at face value.

That's weird, I have Power of Faerun and Tyrants of the Nine Hells, and they are good books (especially the former). Not that ability in one area implies ability in other areas (or even basic decency and honesty), I suppose.

It is also odd that I didn't recognise the name.

Decency and Honesty? Why do you think he got to write Tyrants of the Nine Hells?

*Picks up Tyrants where he has a writing credit*

Oh. Look. One of the three editors. This doesn't surprise me that a total, asinine twit is an editor of this book; there's been endless grumblings around that alot of good stuff was made for it and got cut by an editor.

As for Power? You cannot find a more glaring representation of an editor not bothering to proof-read work.

So. His 'writing credits' for D&D at least show him to be an ass, and in need of a herring to the face.

Are you asking who Sarli is, because I gave a brief outline of who he is and what importance he is to Star Wars canon his stuff serves.
