It's expensive now. If you invest +1 or +2 per turn for 5 or 6 turns it's not bad, especially if you take over some mini-factions or get some good trade going.

I think I might put in a mini faction later this week. Ruthless bastard pirate/raiders/general assholes anyone?

Excellent. My whole idea behind minifactions was to introduce more capturable industrial points without the whole teeth gnashing that accompanies faction death.

And a potential way for those of us highly likely to bite it in a few turns to stick around.

The Company is now born. (Someone please kill these horrid War Dogs ASAP) Now where do we want to put them? I was thinking somewhere on the right side of the map or near some other small nation for them to raid.

There are no mininations out on the southeast, put one out there!

Would be a good front for the company. Some of the raids could be blamed on the Konige.

The Southwest could be an interesting place for The Company. They could really piss of the Dominatrixiat with their raids which surely incorporate sex slavery for some of their victims.
Fights between them and the Independent States Allaince could also be amusing as it would be like a boxing match to determine which method of poor governance is superior.
Its really all about where you all want a bunch off real assholes to be located.

I'm bored; put them in my general vicinity.
(I haven't even read 'em yet; I just want something to do.)
Edit: Oooooo, stealthships, eh? Something for my fleets' enormous C3I packages to actually do!

How about 0, -8 for the Company's location?

Hey, do I have to pay upkeep on my 200-point Agressor Nation force?

Yes, yes you do Thirdfain.

Incidentally, southwest works for me, too: I've pictured it as a "rough neighborhood" for a while, with barbarians and pirates being like stubborn weeds. It's your call, of course.

Meh. A little far for my tastes, but I can deal.
FYI, I fleshed out Ernarn specifically as a tasty target for them to get them near my sector.

It shares my space, but is on the edge away from Sol.

I am going to start a quick reference thread where everyone keeps their Current Fleet listing, Stats, Planets, war fronts, political situations etc. I am probably gonna do it after lunch. Thanks.

Query: Do new ships from Turn 1's build cycle come online at the beginning of the new turn, or the end of it?
Posted: 2008-06-23 03:16pm
by Darkevilme
Beginning i believe. So built in turn 1, finished online and functional by turn 2.
Posted: 2008-06-23 03:17pm
by Dark Hellion
Whenever you want during the next turn. Some may come online right at the beginning, some may come on sometime in. Just use your imagination and tell the story. The turn 1 ships were being built during this turn, by your home industry, and since no ones production plants have been hit, no retconning will be necessary.

Amending production order:
Upgrading the current stock of Sunstorm class Battlecruisers from 25+3C3+6D+6O = 40 to 30+3C3+6D+6O = 45. That's a total of 40 pts (8 ships @ 5 pts each), which uses the maintenance points saved by Improved Logistics quite nicely.
