It's the........eye of the tiger.
It's the trill of the fight.
Rising up, to the challenge of our ri-val.
And the last, lone survivor stalks his prey in the night.
And he's watching us all with the eyyyyyyyyye.......
Of the tiger.
*cough*
Now that I have your attention, when is this going to get started?

When the other players, who said they wanted to play, get off their arses and actually finish off their characters. I'm starting to think however: "fuck 'em! If they want to play later, they can play... later."

I need some way to get images on the web, as a reference source for the game ie you land on the planet XXXX and it looks like this*
* where this is a link to a picture that everyone can click on and it takes them to the image in question.
Since I know fuck all about this stuff, I was hoping someone could tell me how.
In any case, I'm going to start a new thread for the RPG, while this one will, hopefully, remain open for OCC.

The Twilight Empire Episode One is now "ready." The following players are more or less prepared:
The Prime Necromancer - 1
Lazerus - 2
The following players have characters but haven't completed their skill/feat selection:
Faxmodem1 - 3
Jedineophyte - 4
Captain Tycho - 5
Fuck it. Start gaming, we'll pick up everything else as we go along. The following micro text is for the individual players ONLY - do NOT read what isn't intended for your eyes. If you do, an asteroid will fall from the sky and kill your character. Or something. Please, just read what is relevant to your character only.
1 - Mike,
no-one knows you're a Sentinel, at least hopefully no-one knows. Also, slight modification of the prior history - your friend Kravis joined you (his ship), and both of you survived the crash. Kravis will be played by me and will be a regular party member, but he has the same level as you guys and is by no means an uber-NPC to bail yours or anyone's arse out of the fire - you might have been concerned he was a GM-saver; not so. He will have the same strengths as anyone else, but also the same vulnerabilities.
2 - Laz,
you came to the planet, was thawed out, and spent about a week on the surface. Then the place was attacked and occupied, and now you're in the middle of an occupation army. Things suck, but you have one bargaining chip - you're a pilot, a damn good one, and if anyone has a chance of running the orbiting blockade, you're the man to see to it.
3 - Faxy, you'll be in
captivity in a Sharadan prison, but with your datalink you can still communicate with Nev, your engineer. So as you game be aware that you can interact through third party with everyone else, but can't do anything else; also, you can only remain in contact for brief amounts of time, lest your captors discover your secret implant and take drastic actions.
4 - Jedi, let me know if you still want to play - I haven't heard from you for awhile. If you are still interested,
be aware that Drackman needs to get off the planet but can't do it alone.
5 - Tycho,
Nev has a cybernetic datalink that connects him to the Artemis, the ship you're on, as well as Frank Summers, Faxmodem1's character. Through this tenuous link you know where he is and roughly what he's doing - or suffering. The link can only be accessed for brief times every so often, because it isn't undetectable and there's always the risk of alerting the Sharadan of what you're doing. Bear this in mind, lest you give away your captain and your position to the invaders.

Okey-dokey. If you can play, then good-oh. If you can't play because you're busy, I'll keep your character involved as an NPC. As for image hosting, I might have that covered. In any case, thanks for offering.

Just to let you know, I don't think any of us can read it. Or at least, I can't.
Anyway, Chris, has the backstory changed so that now the Commonwealth is still around, or is the Commonwealth some kind of remnant of that civilization you mentioned some time ago in the backstory?
And why do you think it is that I heard the Star Wars theme playing in my head while I read that introduction?
**Edit** One more question, I assume the skill Awareness is passive and "always on" unless there are extenuating circumstances, correct?

*Kosh*...The key is in the title...*/Kosh*

I don't know what you're talking about. And let's hope George Lucas doesn't know either.

Essentially correct. If you see something I'll tell you. If you don't, then I won't tell you.

By the way, how are rounds going to work? Do we all post once, then wait for you to post, then all post again?

I'll post the initiative order for people. They'll then post in that order. Hopefully.
Rounds will only be bothered with in a serious combat encounter - if it's just one guy, who's got like 10 stamina points, and you do an average of 12 points of damage, then what's the point? I'll just say: "You sucker-punch him, and he goes down like a bitch."

By the way, I'd like to know the basic abilities and statistics for the Artemis, as I am it's co-pilot/techian, who should naturally know tons about it's systems, such as weapons power, speed, etc.

Actually dude you're not co-pilot, you're the ship's engineer. You tried piloting it, and you crashed it into the lake.

The actual pilot died when the planet was invaded, and Nev was the only one onboard so he had no choice but try to pilot the ship. The party is in serious need of a pilot.
As for capabilities, I'll work it all out and post it here.

One nitpick, but I have alot of ranks in the Piloting skill(although you can't see the character sheet at the moment because of a bug). How the hell could Nev simply crash it? A Piloting mod of 12 should be enough to fly a ship easily, unless you're using a weird DC system...

D'oh!
"Hey, someone else will fly that thing, right? Probably. Good, I can spend those points elsewhere, I'll take some Drive skill instead, that might come in handy..."

Oh, by the way, does my ACR have any kind of modular rail mounting system?

I'd recommend you choose different skills to put your points into, as there are already 2 pilots in the party. Repair, Computer Use etc. would be more useful to the group.

Uh... come again?
By the way, I was going to sketch out the characters anyway - do I assume Edward looks similar to the one in that pic you posted? Post a description if otherwise.

What kind of hero is that under hero builder?
Super-hero......what?

That was a "Blaster" type hero.
And yeah, that's pretty much how he looks. As for the ACR, can it be modified in a modular fashion? i.e., get standardized optical sights (or other goodies) that could be fitted or removed easily in the field?

If you mean on the
battlefield, with people shooting at you, doing anything which doesn't involve combat requires a concentration check and preferably some cover, as taking your attention away from the battle will provoke an attack of opportunity.
However, yes - the ACR can be modified. In KOTOR terms, it's an "upgradeable" weapon.

Sorry for the long hiatus. The explanation is that a lot of things are going on. I'll be going overseas soon (beginning of April), so of course this has meant getting passports, visas etc done, packing etc. Also once I'm overseas I'm not sure how my 'net access will go. And I don't come back until late April/early May.
I know this sucks, but if people are still willing to continue the game post here and let me know. There may not be an update for awhile in April, or I could find 'net access easily and things will be cool. I don't know what will happen overseas. But if people are willing to keep on playing knowing this will be a hurdle to jump over, then I'm willing to jump that hurdle.
So let it be known. Post in this thread a 'yes' or a 'no'.
(To the Mods: I apologise if this will be seen as thread necromancy, but the post is relevant and I hope it won't be too much of a burden.)

My vote is yes. But you already know that.
