I'm not an actor though. I'm a techie. I get to learn lighting, sound, and costume design, how to make a light plot, how to read a light plot, I get to learn a lot of electrician stuff, play analysis, directing...techie stuff.

And actually, jobs in teatre are so hard to get, and it's unbelievably competative, that it just looks a hell of a lot better if you have some degrees under your belt.

I'm not saying that's a sure-fire way to get a job, as I have a friend, an actor, who has a phd in theatre, and he still has trouble finding work. I have another friend who is currently working on his masters, and he already won a Jeff award (the Chicago version of the Tony's). He's a techie though.

edit...i'm not even planning on going into theatre after college...hehehe

Ahh, okay. Techie's better than actor/actress. I can see one going to college for that. So, what are you going into after college then if not Theatre?

I'm curious as to why you are actually here. You don't seem to be contributing much at all, besides in your own thread. I thought the whole reason for coming here was for a place to interact.

There's been a lot of that going on forever. My favourite was the way they bragged that their board moderators didn't abuse the WCOTC Nazis the way we did ... as if a lenient policy toward white-supremacists is something to be proud of. Anything to claim some kind of tribal superiority, I suppose ...

It's much simpler than that, they hate you Mike and so everything you do must be wrong. Not matter how much sense.

And while the Sd.net bashing has been going on for a long time it's gotten worse since the board went up here. Mostly because it provides a new target.

::shrugs:: I'm testing out the waters. Each bored has a different feel to it. And while I know some people here, I'm still meeting new people. Besides...this is an introductory thread. Dun worry...I'll interact soon enough.

Not to mention, I am a female, and that warrents extra attention, or hadn't you noticed? I'm sure the novelty of having another female on the boards will wear off soon...
