With regards to Vaders power level, in ESB and ROTJ Vader seems at times totally whipped - a virtual slave to Palpatine. He pulls out the 'rule the galaxy' thing on Luke, but on Endor - with Palpatine nearby - there is no hesitation.
Is that what happens when you're near Sith Lords for 20 years? Post ROTS, did Palpy deliberately crush Vader in some way? Did Vader give up his 'kill Palpatine' plan due to his injuries?
Post-Borged Vader really weaken?

It is hardly a secret that technical crap bothers me a lot, and I'm less tolerant of it than the norm.Illuminatus Primus wrote:Sometimes I wonder if the only thing which ever bothers you is technical discomforts.
On the other hand, there are some plots that I don't like. I still hadn't gotten over the entire idea of Zenoma Sekot (cheap cop-out), or the DE Tree, or even that Tyia Force cult. I'm not particularly sure about the Blow-Up Sun Sith series either. And now I've just read on this thread someone decided Hutts don't have midichlorians... help me...
Still, this just isn't unacceptable or even tough. To you, the Force is something mystical and sacred - the less explanation or connection to the Physical, the better. To me, the Force is ultimately something Physical, just as yet not fully explained giving it a temporary Mystical Quality. Therefore, for loss of something physical to affect it goes right along with my tastes, so to speak, as well as being logical.
I know what we all think, but Lucas has said that's why Vader wants Luke. It's also evidenced by Vader's sales pitch in TESB: "Join me, and I will complete you training" as well as "you can destroy the Emperor, he has forseen this, it is your destiny" etc. He can't beat Palpatine by himself anymore.Illuminatus Primus wrote: And who says he hasn't recovered power by the OT? He is poised and prepared to overthrow Palpatine in ROTJ, again.
