And I imagine that the streak won't be around to break when they come and visit Detroit in January. A pity!
You had your chance and you blew it!

btw MoO, I caught the last 10 minutes of Sharks/Kings last night after the Ducks game had ended. That was a brutal asskicking, fun to watch!

The Sharks frequently beat up on bad teams. We had a "Saint Valentine's Day Massacre" in Chicago when we beat the Blackhawks (something like) 8-0 on Valentine's Day a few years back, and in San Jose against the Jackets that same year the fans were rewarded for their chants of "We want ten!"

The Flames are undefeated when I wear my Packers hat to work on gameday.

I am most pleased with the effort tonight.

As predicted, Raycroft is already out with an injury, and Sundin's gone too. Leafs are still winning big though as Wellwood, McCabe, Kaberle and Tucker continue to perform well and score much needed goals. With another win over the Habs we're now in solidly in 2nd place in our division behind Buffalo, though we have played a whole bunch more games than our division mates.

As you should, but out of the last two games between the Ducks and Flames at the Saddledome, both ended 3-0, and I know which won I'd have rather won ;-)

*shakes fist*

I'll take what I can get.

Strangely enough I was wearing a Flames jersey today and the Packers beat the hated Vikings. I only put my Packers hat on afterwords.

A rebound victory against Minnesota ensures that the Ducks will take more from the Wild than they will from them.

Crazy trading news today as the Ducks deal Todd Fedoruk to the Flyers and Stanislav Chistov to the Bruins each for draft picks while picking up George Parros, I am highly skeptical of the Parros move but I was skeptical of the Sean O'Donnell pickup last year and it turned out well.

Leafs are getting some of their injured players back in the next week or so, but I'm not sure that's a good thing. Our current roster is on a hot streak and playing really well so I'm afraid that lineup changes will disrupt the chemistry and screw things up. Kubina hasn't played a game in months so he's bound to be rusty, slotting him into our defence may not be the brightest idea. It worries me a bit.

The jackets finally fired Gallant. Am I being overly optimistic to think the will reinvigorate the franchise?

Fanboy...WTF just happened (in Philly)?

NOTE: This is a serious question.

DF's Week in Review for the Anaheim Ducks:

After a promising start to the homestand with a close 3-2 over the Wild the Ducks took a nasty downward spiral. Some say they Flyers were lucky, same say they played really good, fact of the matter is, it was both. Worst birthday for DF ever. Then the shootout loss after blowing a 2 goal lead to Chicago was fucking ridiculous. Fortunately they rebounded with a 6-4 win against the Yotes (where they blew another 2 goal lead before scoring the last two).

That brings us to tonight, where the real Anaheim Ducks have returned. First meeting with San Jose all season and they throttle them 5-0.

Now if you'll excuse me, FF12 is calling.

Ouch. You win this one, Duckies, but there will be others!

I've actually been really disappointed in the Sharks, this season. Many of their games have gone like that one, albeit against clearly weaker teams that couldn't skate with the Sharks and don't have the same talent. We need to get the energy back into our games.

Damn Leafs, we get all our injured players back and now we're sucking.

edit: Don Cherry called it right again. When a team is kicking ass, don't fuck with the lineups even if it's to put Mats Sundin back in. Also, you can't score from behind the net unless you're Wayne Gretzky, so what do the Leafs do? Send 3 guys after the one guy behind the net and leave the front wide open. Giveaways were also brutal, I think we made more passes to Boston than our own players.

Got to catch a great game against NJ on Friday afternoon. Tied at 2 in the third and Marchant scores shorthanded, we later tack on the empty netter to send the Devils home packing 4-2.

Archon, game 2 out of 4 between the Ducks and Calgary tonight, look for me way up in the rafters in one of the Ponda Center's corners. I'll be the guy with a big sign that says "REMEMBER THE SADDLEDOME." Ok I won't have the sign...;-)

Sharks beat NJ 2-0 in a ridiculously good game. The Sharks, generally, controlled play but couldn't beat Brodeur until well into the third. Then Grier scored on the open net to ice it.

Ducks douse the Flames 5-3. Giguere and Bryzgalov both get hurt, but that's okay because our third stringer is a WALL. Literally, Kudos to the kid for winning in his NHL debut. Although it didn't hurt that Kiprusoff didn't play and NEidermayer/Pronger got plenty of ice time.

If anyone has the opportunity to check out the highlights, you will all see the Ducks benefit on the most fortunate bounce off a post in the hsitory of the NHL. The puck goes through Wall's five hole, clangs off the corner post, rebounds back out through his legs and through a crowd of players of both sides going untouched.

I am deeply concerned with how NAshville was able to snag Leighton despite the fact that Wall did well in his first start and despite the fact that I think we have better potential on the depth chart. I could have sworn that for an injury call up a player didn't have to be put through the waiver system like that. No ill will towards the PReds but they not onlyhave our #3 goaltender, but we have to pay half his salary.

George Parros Porn Stache rivals the beard of Chuck Norris, i'm slowly becoming a fan.

Ducks Steal one from the Oil in Rexall! First win there since 1999! Pronger-haters left stunned!

Anybody catch the Colin White hit on Sean Avery from Tuesday night?

The Sharks have been kicking butt on this roadtrip, beating the Blues, Minnesota, and Detroit while getting healthy and (hopefully) having Michalek and Cheechoo back in the lineup. Beating Dallas on the road, today, would secure us in second in the division.

Just to let you know, MoO, Pavelski has been added to the LIST. Wings got badly outplayed in the third (they had played the day prior), but Joey Mac kept it close. Poor guy deserved at least a point for his efforts. Fucking Cleary fumbling the puck at the blue line, trying to start a rush up the ice with FIVE SECONDS LEFT IN REGULATION. He dumps the puck to center ice, game goes to OT. BAH!

George Parros once visited the Virgin Islands, they are now simply known as "The Islands".

Cast my All Star Ballots the other day. I still dare to dream that there will be a Pronger/Niedermayer two headed all Anaheim blue line monster for a couple of shifts.

Ducks travel to Washington to avenge last year's 3-2 OT loss to the Caps (powered by an Ovechkin Hat Trick) Ovechkin ends up -3 for the night and is limited to an assist as the Ducks rout the Caps 6-1. DGG we took a huge bite out of Nashville Wednesday night, repayment for that win y'all had against Dallas with the 3 SHG I caught on VS a while back.

Two shorties against Dallas, actually. First time a team won scoring all shorties in thirty-some-odd years, I recall. And yes, I enjoy this scratching of each others' backs. :D

WINGS-LEAFS TONIGHT FUCK YEAH. ORIGINAL SIX IN THE HOUSE!

The Leafs got all their players back...and now they suck. I'd be surprised if they break their losing streak before it hits double digits.
