DarthShady wrote:So Stas, Fingolfin how can I help with the S-300/S-400 and bomber production?
And just so you guys know I am already producing MiG-31 for myself.
Tell you what, you upgrade your MIG-31 production, to produce the Byzantine variant (which has a better and smaller computer, among other things), produce about 96 of these machines for me, while I'll up my bomber and S-300/S-400 production.
Just to let you know, my current air defence division is of the following structure:
All 24 Brigades will be enlarged division size to operate a combination of
- 4 Pantsyr S1 batteries
- 4 Patroit PAC 3 batteries
- 4 THAAD or S-400 batteries
- 4 THEL batteries
I might up the number of batteries to 6 each.
It might be good to harden the whole lot and install some CIWS as a last ditch defence.
Damn that is one dense air defense network. I might have to upgrade mine a bit in the future.
On another note I figure my air force is nearing the limit of what I can afford. A few more AWACS, and around 300 total Gripen's and I'll be set.

That works for me. I have a batch being produced for me(should be completed in a few real days) but after that we will begin production of the upgraded ones for you and after they are delivered I will continue to produce the upgraded ones for my self and also upgrade the existing ones.
Also: I'm not producing much of anything else so I could begin production of some other things we need.
I wonder if you guys are okay with tech-sharing those wonderful Soviet SAM systems.

Well, in general, they are either on the field, or in hardened underground camouflaged bunkers.
And it gets more expensive when there's a few master command vehicles/command centers going around with so much computer power just to link all the bloody radars together and fuse the data so that any of the command centers can coordinate national defence. The fleet should be able to join that eventually, when Wilkens is done with his SPY-3.

Sure you want those? Thought IRT was your new best friend.
It really depends on who has what. Those Soviet/Russian missiles are really impressive, more so than their Western counterparts. If phongn has a better offer, I might consider it, but eh - I think his stuff are Western. I guess I'll just buy some IRT stuff for the radars and all that infrastructural logistic stuff, the stuff that's not so shiny but still very useful.
I'll be using a combination of local and foreign (you, IRT, Stas) stuff for my stuff.

I actually offer Western SAMs, as you might notice, and land-based Aegis systems.
I'm not sure if someone started work on the MEADs, and that might be great to replace the existing PAC3. Otherwise, I'll go start work and hope to finish next year or the following.

Yeah... hrm. Why should I buy from you when our nations are more or less on par and there's nothing stopping my own native defense industry from aping your stuff?
Hell, we're already seeing both our defense industries working together - for BAM stuff and, in Game 1, that silly superfighter.
Screw it, let's just say that we're like Europe and each of our system has parts and components from half a dozen countries.
For every gun a person buys in the Old Continent, Shroomanian, Byzantine, PeZookian, and Crimson companies will be making a buck!

I'm bored and might as well end the Fucklands conflict.

I don't mind working together on a replacement for the PAC3 system, and come up with the MEADs, together with integrating the THAAD together and add in a short-medium range system.
(Partly, I want to save money)

I'm mostly using the Standard family for my heavyweight SAMs (adapted to land use), actually, with a dedicated land-based control system.
Raj Ahten wrote:A few announcements here.
First, Phongn I am looking to acquire some 26 P-8 Poseidon type aircraft from you if you are selling them.
I am also looking to buy a 26 B-1's from Shroomania and another 2 big AWACS aircraft.
I'm not sure if a small power can afford to operate large strategic bombers - or if it's really necessary. I can certainly sell maritime patrol aircraft.

Are those actually mobile? I was wondering for a while whether it might be possible to build field deployable ones.
Though I do deploy static ones now.

I am running with a $40 billion a year defense budget, and the air force seems to be getting most of the funding. The purpose of the stretgic aircraft is to provide a stretegic strike capabilkity for the FTO, so we have some long range deterrant capability. Once I get the Maritime patrol aircraft from you, my airforce really will be at it's max size.

I would dare suggest you should ask your neighbours to help you cofund the bombers and place them under joint FTO control.

How much?
That depends entirely on how much you're willing to accept. Would 2 billion be acceptable?
With regards to this, I shall take note of it, but why not 2.5 billion, plus spare parts (which are newly manufactured and maybe some new builds of the machinery involved). Note that the spare parts are meant for the shafts in particular.

Good idea
You can TOTALLY lease them to other trustworthy FTO nations, if you want to get your money back. I'm sure those San Dorado capitalists would pay top dollar to rent their own B-1s!

I would dread having creditors claiming those B-1s when Raj can't pay up.
Not least, the damn interest!
BTW, Shroom, you agreeable to designing a new air defence system? Call it.. BSADS?

They can make a musical about it. Like Lease (or was it Rent? the one about AIDS). But with a General Turgidson or something.

Stands for Byzantine Shroomanian Air Defence System, to consist of short, medium and long range air defence missiles, incorporating specifications exceeding current missile designs.
Though to be honest, there are lots of designs that are good enough, and the next Aegis system should be ready soon.

I'm not sure. Could be a biological/chemical agent and a campaign of extermination.
Close, but that's not it. I need the pic he uses to make the other pics(like the one in the link).
But thanks anyway.
I'll just ask Stas for it.
