900 meters? Someone with an EVA suit could JUMP that distance. Considering some power out there probably has missiles about that long.

Hehe, meanwhile, I'll go back to defining standoff ranges relative to the speed of light.

Except... Cabwi also has some weird rule about no armed ships in his borders, I'm not sure you should take his rules as a baseline..

And while you're warming up the particle beam, I suggest you respond. You've got a small fleet asking in a very polite way: "what the bloody hell are you lot doing in our space?"
And really? No armed ships, you say? I'll have to remember that... :p

Down, boy. What my compatriot here meant to say was, "No armed ships except for the ANS Navy."
Well, not that it's an impressive navy or anything, but ol' Cabwi is hardly defenseless.

BTW;
All you fellas looking for diplomatic contacts-
Just hop on over to the nearest major power and set up an embassy, that'll more or less get you in touch with every power in the game. You already probably pick up the hypercom transmissions, so you've seen all the latest news shows, I Love Lucy re-runs, so on and so forth- you'll have a basic idea about what's going on in the Galaxy, and so long as you have the very common hypercom tech, probably internet access as well.

Hehe. Warspites measure range in terms of orbital shells.

Yea. The Overseer was very.. casual about sacrificing entire ships to destroy the opposition.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Thirdfain.
Actually, I rescinded the order on armed warships, as long as they are willing to be escorted by ANN vessels.
the perseus arm is relatively a good bit away from my borders.
Changing 900m to 900km

Ace, don't get any smart ideas, the ban is lifted on cruisers and escorts. Nothing even close to the Galactic will be allowed in my borders.
The reason for lifting the ban on ALL vessels was that many people on here simply don't have lightly armed diplomatic escorts.

I prefer sending Battlecruiser for diplomatic missions. Adds a certain sincerity and demonstration of power to the whole act....

Givin the fact my BC's are kinda... well flagships, I suspect I shall follow your plans, thanks for the idea.
Cabwi, the fact the change is intresting dosn't mean I'm thinking on bringing the Galactic in... do I look like a fool?

Some brief backstory to the game:
Crumbling history texts, corrupted datafiles, simple legend, and, in a very few special cases, living memory all retain information about the era before the fall (Commonwealth Standard Notation, "BF".) Vast star-empires stretched the width and breadth of the Galaxy. Interdimensional portals brought the wealth of a thousand alternate realites to this one. Vast fleets of warships plied the star-lanes, following clear hyperspace routes to every corner of the Galaxy and beyond. The Boyd Collective. The New Republic Military Dictatorship. The 6th Imperium. These names, and more, described the vast superstates of our Galaxy.
Then, it came. War had always been a fact of galactic life, even to the extent that the destruction of entire systems was hardly unheard of, but never war like this. Her name was Halite, and there is nothing in the archives of the Commonwealth besides hearsay and legend as to who, or what, she really was. Her fleets ravaged the galaxy, and the great nations took sides in the war to end all wars.
This was the Fall, the Cataclysm. After a final Great Battle, in which the last of the powers arrayed against Halite and her servants, victory was achieved- but only at great cost. The power of the Old World was broken, and even the highest of the Grand Nations was turned into a skeleton of it's former self. The hyperlanes were clogged with debris and the remnants of dead stars, and horrific technological nightmares stalked the dead streets of ravaged worlds.
It was on this stage that the New World was formed. It is now the era After Fall- AF in Commonwealth Standard Notation.
A handful of the old powers remain, diminished but still mighty. The Star Kingdom of Serenity is bereft of it's true queen, but it has survived with a fraction of it's former glory. The Corporate Sector still trades, deals, and manufactures as it always has, though it's contracts have dried to a mere trickle compared to the flood they once recieved. The Kzin Patriarchy survives as well, maintaining control of the ancient forge-world of Five Fangs. And finally, fabled Terra still stands, secure besides it's Universe Shield. The United Terran Republic, great great great grandson of the fabled American States, remains, though much of it's former territory has broken into successor states and free nations.
Now, we see a wave of new growth. The space-lanes are being cleared. Colonists are pouring into freshly-clensed planets. New polities are rising from the ashes of the Old World, and the stars are once again alive with the chaotic commerce of sentient industry.
There will be conflict, war, and violence in this era, but it is never the less a time for rejoicing. The end of barbarism is in sight, and a new Age shines on the horizon.

Ah, the Xenomorph. Alyrium should never had used them as a bio-weapon back in the Aquaro-Azegart War. His irresponsible foreign policy is largely why the Aquarian Union is such a shithole now...
