Considering the phase-cloak ships of Doom (which often forwarded as the most useful stratagy a comptent Federation can use), KOed Imperial ships, the torpedos should do it too.FireNexus wrote:Hehe. Wild Weasel. I like that. Good chapter, Stravo. I can't wait to see the transphasic torpedos fail miserably.
Sure the Shadow fleet will be destroyed, but Thrawn's fleet is going to be very very bloodied after this.

But there's no reason to suggest transphasics work on Imperial shields--they're an anti-Borg weapon.

Let's just say that my view on how transphasics work will become quite clear in the next chapter.
And how many of you read it while listening to music like Righteous Fist does? I write it to music. For instance, one upcoming chapter will be written listening solely to Liberali Fatalli from Final Fantasy VIII

I was thinking them of a phase-cloak stapped onto a torpedo, with some ultra dense warhead(non-explosive) which relies on Paule Exclusion Principle to generate the explosive power.Illuminatus Primus wrote:But there's no reason to suggest transphasics work on Imperial shields--they're an anti-Borg weapon.
Push 2 electrons very close together and the replusive force aproaches infinity.
If the phase-cloak just drops matter into back into existance were it can interact with normal matter, there is an increadiable chance of a large volumn of matter being super-imposed on each other. Due to Paule Exclusion Principle, and the lack of a gravity field on par with a neutron star, matter explodes very very violently with an increadiable amount of energy.
This is probable very close to how the phase-cloak works due to the quote:
Now if the Shadowfleet figures out how to get standard Transporters to do this... (since transporter MUST clear an area for the transported object to rematerialize, or they run into the problem of Paule Exclusion Principle)The solidification process lasted a mere moment and suddenly both ships occupied the same space at the same time.
The starship erupted in a blaze of self destructing matter and antimatter. The Strike cruiser’s engine block disappeared in that same flash, consumed by the destruction of the starship and the forces of physics which would not allow such a paradox to occur.
:Edit: This process is material dependant, the highter the atomic & electron desnity, the higher the energy released due to a much greater chance of super-imposing a particle close to another.

WOW, I'm glad to see the Shadow fleet going down fighting, its great to see a great battle after you have just finished your Pre-Cal homework(work stimulated my brain, Starcrossed gave it a massage). Thank you Stravo.
btw, thank you for bringing back Captain Ochoa, I was starting to wonder when he would come back.
So, the shadow fleet was on a planet? All this time I thought they were on a space station in the void between the stars. I guess I was wrong then.

Soon...but remember the assasination plot was planned BEFORE Thrawn showed up. This has thrown everyone's plans to hell including the public appearance that Nemesis was going to make. Don't worry, all subplots are in my mind, there's just alot going on right now and we'll get to each in their due course.JodoForce wrote:um, when is the assasination of Darth Nemesis going to occur? It seems so overdue as to be bordering on irrelevance, what with Thrawn already here and Palpatine about to come too...

And don't forget that the Empire and the Imperium are in the same spot, and although against a common enemy, may also turn against eachother. I finally got around to reading it (I've been slackign lately), but I must say this chapter kicked ass!!!
Uber-kamakazi phase-cloak Shadowfleet ships of doom (TM)!!!
At least the ShF will be able to bloody a few noses before being vaporized into a cloud of expanding anti-matter. Unless of course, you'll be using technobabble to grant them escape, ala Battle of Vulcan (for shame! Loved it anyways ). I hope those transphasic torps don't do what I hope they won't do to my favorite Imperial vessels, however. And Thrawn must NOT die! He must live on to crush Durant and Kirk. And I'm gonna want a damn good explanation for how Jerjerrod got the brain-parasite too!
Oh and the Vader-Luke thing that you did when Vader killed the Fed ship (which kicked ass also) was brilliant. Keep it up; it only gets better and better with time - IF you can keep track of all those sub-plots!
Excellent as per usual.

Since when were they an anti-borg weapon and not just stronger torpedo tech form 30 years in Trek future? Just because we have only seen them used against the borg does not make them anti-borg, Voyager never had an opportunity to used them against anyone else.Illuminatus Primus wrote:But there's no reason to suggest transphasics work on Imperial shields--they're an anti-Borg weapon.

Simple Seven of Nine says that 'much of it appears to be designed to defend against the borg. Also, as it had to have the Voy's armour dissapear it is still affected by dense materials. It'll never get though Dura Armour.

Great fanfic Stravo!
Stravo has already shown (***in the limited context of his story***)that changing the phase of a fed ship gives it the ability to slip through Imperial shileds and armor. Am i correct is making the statement that transphasic torpedoes operate on the same principle? they change the phase of their matter and re-phase in harmony with the surronding matter once they reach their destination. whoa boy this could be a slugfest! let it rip stravo!
