Get your fill of sci-fi, science, and mockery of stupid ideas

Bumper
What?! Is this... Could it be?!
It’s the Bumper from the Nintendo 64 version of Super Smash Bros.!
Back again after a whole nine years... Well, I’ll be.
screenshot
Ahh... That really takes me back.
This is the kind of bumper you might see bouncing a pinball around. So if a character touches it, he or she will get knocked around as well!

Watch out for those bumpers once they’re set!
Now you can set them in mid-air as well. This might lend itself to a few new and interesting strategies.

Of course, just keeping people from making it back to the stage should be the most obvious use.
And don’t just set it randomly and wait for an opponent to walk into it – try to use it wisely in combination with your own attacks.
Yeah, cause he would have kicked so much ass. (I hope you caught the sarcasm in that)Archaic` wrote:Pity that Wright is going to be an AT though, rather than a playable character.
It looked to me as if the thing that blew the hole in the bridge was an explosive barrel, which seems more like a level hazard than a player-caused event. Especially with the bokoblin-looking man standing on the right.Ford Prefect wrote:And it looks as though the Bridge of Eldin will actually be destructible by players.
Oh wow, I thought that was Link.Grandmaster Jogurt wrote: It looked to me as if the thing that blew the hole in the bridge was an explosive barrel, which seems more like a level hazard than a player-caused event. Especially with the bokoblin-looking man standing on the right.
How do you define "flat"? Here's a quick list, though I've left out some that might be a toss-up. (Flat Zone, Green Greens, the DK stages, and others mix things up a bit even though they're pretty flat.)Bluewolf wrote:How many flat stages were there in SSBM? I can't remember them.
The stage may be awful by all other standards, but it wins through sheer virtue of having K.K. Slider.Grandmaster Jogurt wrote:Damnit. We get another boring level and it appears that Tom Nook is neither playable nor an AT. This is a depressing update.
At least we see that there's an Animal Crossing symbol in the game. That implies there'll be some sort of AC-based character, right? And maybe Tom Nook just won't be in the background when you play as him? But that one's just grasping at straws.

Deoxys
Now, this one is popular. This is Deoxys, a DNA Pokémon. It appears on command from a Poké Ball!

When Deoxys appears, it hovers gently in the air.

It slowly turns around...

And unleashes Hyper Beam!
Hyper Beam is truly awe-inspiring. I’d try and avoid it at all costs, if I were you.
Same here, I thought the transformations would be cool. Hyper Beam looks awesome though.Elite Pwnage wrote:I actually thought that Deoxys would be a playable character. I do not know exactly what gave me that impression.
That'd be the new Mewtwo?Elite Pwnage wrote:I actually thought that Deoxys would be a playable character. I do not know exactly what gave me that impression.

Samus: Final Smash
<Zero Laser>
Don’t fire! Do NOT fire that laser!
Why? ...Well, because it really hurts!
MAXIMUM CHARGE!
Now, fire! Whoa, that’s huge!
That weapon is extremely powerful. Her opponents’ damage meters skyrocket!
...But afterward, Samus has a problem.
All of her armor fell off!
Now she’s just Zero Suit Samus.
That really was her last trump card. She used a weapon so powerful, it destroyed her Power Suit.
Now it’s time for Zero Suit Samus to show what she can do.
It looks like you can throw the pieces of her suit that end up on the ground.
Hey. Stop that... QUIT IT! I mean it!
Take that!
