Annoyingly wont be able to get this untill Friday, but I've seen some early LP stuff on YT. Not quite sure that Captain is really a Smurf "Codex Astartes? Wuzzat?" Would have made more sense with Raven Guard. Possibly.
Um,yeah... Took about five minutes for the full decrypt and install to happen. After that Ben, Fred, and me had a blast farming XP, achievements, and cool weapons/armor bits. Turns out you can just set up a private multi server and just farm this shit.
Any favourites as yet?

Fuck. Mine just hung at 60-70% for nearly an hour.

The Stalker bolter is either rigged or awesome depending on what side of it you're on. High-damage, high-DPS, highly accurate at all ranges. Lascannon headshots are hilarious, but hard enough to pull off with a low-ROF, low-clip weapon as to not be insane. Combat is pretty lethal on the whole in multi, any sort of sustained fire will end you preeeetty quick. Coffee and xthetenth don't like my assault marine.
In one level, I'll have the second perk slot unlocked for my multi loadouts, which should be quite snazzy. Not particularly close to any of the weapon-perk unlocks yet, just the level-based class unlocks. My last game last night unlocked the plasma pistol for my assault marine, should be fun, but I haven't tried it yet. Overall it's hella fun.

Multiplayer really suffers for the lack of a cover system and dedicated servers. Aside from that, it's pretty fun. Although not being able to choose whether to be Space Marines or Chaos, and not being able to do any real customization until high level, is annoying.
I like how basically the first words out of Captain Titus' mouth are: "Ah, come on. Stop interpreting the Codex so narrowly."

Eh, we never really noticed ourselves pining for a cover system last night, and you can pick Marines or Chaos at will in the lobby, so I don't even have a shadow of a clue what you're talking about there.

What do you guys think of the commercial they made?
I find it cringe worthy personally.

Only advert I've seen here are the announcement trailer with some modification. It did looks rather excellent on the cinema screen.

I like it. There's a few commercials that, when they play on a stream, cause an instant f5 to abolish. But that's not one of them. I like Lance there talking about being a space marine, it sounds badass and makes me think he'd be a nice Inquisitor or Commisar. Number 5 manages to sell her Space Marine gooey skin power too, which is funny and weird but I like it when it doesn't always sound ridiculous. It's like "Oh, well then, I guess you can do that."
So yeah, I think it's pretty decent. Is it a good advertisement for the gameplay? Not really, but I'd say it is effective advertising because it gets the name out there, it makes it sound interesting, and it shows a variety of people and some superpowers and it does the job.

Even good cover systems are less useful in multi than singleplayer. Do the dives still stop if any part of you hits any obstacle or player?
And man that ad is almost as bad as letting the Relic beardos talk about being macho.

What good would a cover system do against the Assault/Raptors when they're already rabbiting around the maps like crazy?

Does the jetpack work the same in multi as it works in SP? Let's hope not.

Not really. The controls do all the same things, but the ultra long distance slam attacks are gone, and recharge between jumps is noticeably longer.

That's a relief. I know it's silly to expect balance from Relic, but a low-cooldown jetpack with AOE would have made multi hilarious.

It still felt like Raptors were everywhere raping everything a few matches.

Stormbolter, or failing that your regular bolter (with Kraken, if possible). I also hear good things about the melta. The stormbolter in particular just demolishes attempts at melee-rape.

Unless he hits the ground before you notice he's there, a tactical marine can eat an assault for breakfast, barring either huge luck or a significant skill gap. You have to be careful, but there've been cases where I danced around while an assault marine was trying to kill me for the time it took to kill another tactical marine, then killed the assault marine.

Well, now I can completely understand why there isn't a cover system. It would just get you killed. Take cover and before you can say "Ha! They'll never hit me now" and an assault marine is going to drop the hammer (literally if he's got the right kit) till you go squish. Or a devastator with a plasma cannon is going to drop a big glob of glowing blue shit and boil you and your cover to a steaming pile of asshole. Or a tactical marine is going to just flank you and skull fuck you with a variety of happy death spewing toys.
Also, not really noticing a huge gap in capabilities between higher levels and lower levels. You get more access to some weapons, but a lot of the perks are based on how many/what kind of kills you make, so a reasonably skilled lowby tactical marine can very easily yank a high level player's head off if he gets to cocky.
P.S. Bolter with the vengeance bolts perk is fucking hilarious.

So... Final Vengeance, lamest perk, or lamest perk?
I think they either ought to tone it down a little, or add friendly-fire to it, which would be hilarious.

If it's what I think it is, it beggars the imagination Relic even included it.
Oh man, even looking at the forums is like a flashback to 2002. 'Nothing is overpowered, you just suck' and 'if amazing hardcore players like it, it must not be broken'. Good old internet, bringing out the best.

Final Vengeance nails me far too often, simply because of one of my evasive reflexes. If I'm fighting multiple hostiles and I kill one, my reflex is to dive towards them for a moment of surprise. Until the assault marine in question died, diving towards him would have been suicide, so anyone else shooting at me wouldn't expect it. Then, boom.

Think COD4's Martyrdom perk, only with jetpacks. In the dark future of the 41st millennium there is only cheese. This perk annoys me simply because it rewards assholes for getting killed half the time.

In some ways they're right. The leveling system doesn't really do much to confer an advantage for high level players other then access to more weapons. A low level player that's good can clean a high level player's clock (and let's face it, leveling systems being what they are it doesn't take skill to level, just patience). This also means that a high level player who's good and has a lot of perks unlocked for kill streaks or whatever can massively sodomize players that aren't as good at the game.
The only weapon I'd say that's "overpowered" at all is the plasma cannon's charge shot (one hit death), but it's balanced out by the shot being slow moving enough you can easily dodge it at range and at close range the AOE splash will the shooter as well.

I'm seeing issues with the upgraded meltagun + upgraded combat knife. An upgraded meltagun is a 1-shot 99% of the time, and because you're at point blank anyway you can melee a split-second after you fire, for what is effectively a 1-shot (the melee occurs almost instantaneously with the melta shot, so you have no time to respond anyway).
Haven't gotten killed by the plasma much so I can't comment on that. Really, a plurality of my deaths at this point are Final Vengeance. It's not too hard to dodge on Tactical, but unless you're expecting it and are careful not to "over-combo" your melees, it's a 1-shot on your Assault if you're anywhere nearby.
