Because if he does, he could learn of what you feel, then it could be open for him to make a move. All you'd have to do is get a mutual friend to recommend it. It is a bit dishonest, but possibly workable.

EDIT: You could also just ask a mutual friend to check his feelings.

Given the response here and Zaia's popularity in the since hijacked and locked Favorite Posters thread, I think it's safe to assume that anybody who comes here and starts picking on our favorite girl (well, mine anyway) will find out the hard way that when the lot of us are done there won't be more than a smoking crater left of them...

Yes, I thought about that, actually--thought about how it would be if he learned of my feelings for him this way. I think it'd be rather surreal for him to read all the stuff I've written, but it would certainly get my point across, now wouldn't it. *laughs* I don't think I could direct him here, because it would be a bit like handing him my diary to a page all about him, but....I don't know.

I thought about that too, but I don't want to go that route. I want to get the courage to do it myself, it's just really difficult.

I got an email from him this morning, apologizing for being so busy that he hasn't had time to talk or hang out with me. It started out with "I'm REALLY sorry" and went on from there. He wanted me to know that he hasn't been blowing me off and that he's going to call or IM me either tonight or tomorrow, so...yeah.

That's sweet...hope that works out good for you

As for directing him here...yeah it poses the problem that you do use it less for screaming at trolls and more for a diary of your thoughts, so that may not honestly be the most prudent action(besides you gotta have a few secrets from him )

So hope things work out better.

Well, if somebody did start trouble I would be. Starting trouble with my friends inevitably gets a stronger response from me than starting trouble with me personally. Besides, I was just stating out what seems to be rather self-evident. We have had some idiots who got the crater treatment, Arminius and Azeron. Arminius was a racist asshole and Azeron a misogynist, asshole prick. Both got banned, and Arminius got mercilessly flamed by everyone whenever he showed up. HoS has more of his topics than anybody else's...

I just had something like that happen to me. A girl and me were friends, became more than that, but just broke up because she thought "we had a better relationship as friends". I know this isn't my "help-me-please" thread, but damnit I want to know what I did wrong....

EDIT: THank you all posters, the different views on this kind of stuff have convinced me to figure out "what I did wrong", and maybe fix it. Oh, and thank you Zaia for bringing this up in the first place, hope it all works out.

*kisses Gandalf's cheek* Well, I did get online last night a little after 11:30pm, figuring he had gone to bed, but he was still up, still online, and apparently waiting for me, since he IMed me the second I was signed in. We talked for about half an hour, I guess, maybe 45 minutes?--until he had to go back to work writing his piece (he's been commissioned to write a symphonic band piece), and I had to go to bed. He was very sweet during the conversation: wanted to know what was going on with me at work (there have been some specific annoyances that he remembered & asked about), we talked a little bit about some other things, joked around a little, and then he told me that he had to get back to work, but that he had wanted to talk to me.

Today I sent him an email thanking him for listening to me complain about work, and I asked him whether or not he had plans for Saturday night. My best friend is going to be in town this weekend (she lives in Utah, so she's hardly ever in town), and I'm getting some of my friends together Saturday night, so I asked him if he was free if he'd like to hang out with us. None of my friends have met him yet (other than the mutual friends we have, of course), so this would be a pretty big deal if he went. Of course, he's still crazy-busy, so I'm trying not to get my hopes up, because I really do understand how horrifically busy he is.

So....yeah. I feel good about it, for whatever reason, so....I guess we'll see.

No, seriously, he's been staying up late to work on this piece of music, but he usually does that over the weekend, which is why I was surprised that he was up at 11:30 in the middle of the week (he's a high school teacher, so he has to be at work by 7, and he's got a 1/2 hour commute...). I can't take credit for him staying up for me, but I can admit that he was definitely looking for me, and had said that he had been waiting to talk to me, so that part's pretty positive, I'd say...

Unless of course he's just a sweet guy who's a great friend. Ahh...*takes deep breath* I do so hope it's more than that......
