Twitching could indicate that the disease has moved out of the cerebral cortex and down the CNS/PNS. In other words it might mean that we now have to destory the entier spine not just the brain because the spine can function without the brain if you have the propper induction of electrical stimulus much like a reflex

no we have something worse, cut one in half at the base of the rib cage, now you have the upper half with teeth and such crawling arround and you have the lower half running arround as well, and to top it off it only has to touch your skin with some body fluid or part of it's skin.
