Are you so sure about that? :P

I expect we'll having something posted tomorrow at the very latest. Some of the NGTO guys have been off doing this thing I hear called "real-life" things. The fools.

While the FTL signal from the League ship isn't going to be deafening or any such at interstellar distances, it will be detectable if anyone's trying to listen in with the right kind of receptors, and is simply voice and emotion, no code or any such.

Two quick questions about what's going down between White Haven and Thirdfain:

1) How much should the dwarves know about the League of Thought? We are practically next door to each other, after all.

2) When is this happening? It seems like it is weeks behind the Heralds incident, and it seems like this could have a very profound effect on how I respond to what's happening up North. If war breaks out between two of their neighbors, the dwarves would probably commit less forces to any kind of peacekeeping mission.

The League isn't secretive, but neither are they expansionistic. They don't go out of their way to be inscrutable or any such, but they're fairly small, so not wildly public. They've been around for a decent while, though, so you'll know what they're about, if you want to.

Yeah, dealing with real life has me stressed - my whole ear thing in venting is only a physical aspect of it.

When I'm my more usual calm self and feeling centered, I'll jump back in. Don't worry, it'll be soon - I don't want to act in haste due to how I'm feeling personally right now.

Ok, now that most of the drama appears to be over, I'll get back to muhahahah'ing.

- Covenant, I shall reply to you soon. After you've put so much time, thought, and effort into your posts in-game, I certainly would like to do them justice.

- Academia Nut, A-Wing-Slash, you're both stalling - this diplomacy thing appears to be going well, and I'm anxious for it to continue that way.

- As for the NGTO & Coalition...thing, yeah, just wait. ;)

No worries - considering the excitement lately, I'm not too surprised. I'm in no rush tonight, so I won't expect you to be either.

No biggie! I like to give people enough time to reply. The stuff in Sol is interesting enough, and I feel like constantly begging to be RP'ed with would just seem like Me-Too-ism. The action is in Sol, so that's fine if that's where the focus is. Once the action shifts towards my area, I'm sure I'll have no lack of things to reply to myself!

'splosions incoming.

Any NTGO members want to hire terrorists to attack my Emissary in NY? Otherwise it can just be random nuts, but a bit more fuel on the fire can't hurt.

Trust me, Dark - if my faction wanted to assassinate your Emissary, we wouldn't hire terrorists to do such a sloppy, visible job. ;)

Sorry 'bout this, but I worked out that I would do something heroic in the U.S. with Hawkwings last weekend. The probe thing got in the way, and now that I have the time and inclination, I am writing an already worked out RP.
Plus you know you want to see giant robots beat up terrorists.

Sorry, have been busy with assorted (and board mod) RL stuff for a while.
SirNitram wrote:The metagaming with this is quite annoying. It's starting to look like some RP will have to be done via PM, which is a pain for Mods to keep track of, just because people will go 'Oh, I totally notice that despite the million and one precautions'.
I think this is pretty much unavoidable. I just try to make the PMs in-character, copy them to a mod and save them all for posting later.

That said the NGTO stuff isn't metagaming, that's just the Earth powers capitalising on an excuse to go to war. Just about everyone is essentially looking for an excuse to start a fight at the start of the game, and one really good excuse like this can work for everyone. In particular it's logical IC that the earth-human powers would want to destroy the only other major alliance ASAP as it's the only real threat to earth's security; break that and earth is safe (until all the space monsters are gone and the earth powers start going to war with each other, but that's OOC knowledge...). That said it should be a hell of a fight :)

Dude, does NO ONE realise that most of the members of the Coalition aren't even Human? We've got dwarves and Martian wizards and all sorts of other things.

And why the heck would Poland allow the NGTO to invade and conquer another nation for such flimsy reasons?

Scary fire-throwing humans.

No, it's all lies, you are human-supremacist fascists are out to grind the whole galaxy, and particularly the poor little space bats, under your iron heels!

Damn, if this was GURPS I could get at least +10 points for a 'Racial Paranoia' disadvantage ;)

The powers in the Sol System enjoy a somewhat shaky peace. None of them are going to be overjoyed to learn that a group of powerful stellar nations, members of a group that specifically excludes them, are picking off another stellar nation based on the thinnest of excuses. There is no pan Sol alliance. There exists, at the moment, an agreement to be very careful and respect each other's territory so we don't accidently start a war because we have so many heavily armed factions in one territory. The biggest factor pushing for the unification of the Solar powers is that there is a coalition of other powers that looks like it might try and eat them one at a time.

EDIT: With the exception of Red Leader's partially human nation.
