To be frank, there's way too much sea for my 6 SSNs to check out.
And I sent 1 Seawolf and 2 Virginia class submarines, 3 Akula II Mod submarines and 4 Type 212
Okay, 6 SSNs and 4 SSKs, bringing the total to 32. We have to make sure nothing sprays Sirnoth, I want to ensure nothing gets within launching range.
Fan ships out and have them patrol designated sectors up to 100-200 kms from where you are. Start dropping off lots of buoys pinging active sonar from your sea patrol vessels (I hope you have some like P-3 Orions) somewhere like 300-400 km from the coast.

Let's be realistic here. There's too much territory to protect when you are dealing with Iskander rockets with 300-400km range.\
Where is Sirnorth by the way?

Right off the east coast of the Shepistani/Old Dominion continent.

Yes; there's plenty Duchies with Eurofighter/Rafale/F-16XL and other 4.5 generation aircraft in their inventory.

Let's not kid ourselves, you're with Stas on each one. And frankly you don't have much of a choice either.

Setzer, if you have any AWACs, preferably E737AEW&C aircraft, send them up in the air and have the pilots train working with them.

Ok, so I'm staying out of it on the military side, but I did condemn the use of bio-weapons and called for a diplomatic solution. And I'm sending aid to Sirnoth. The unspoken assumption is that they'll send it from their mainland to help Astaria. I'm just not going to send my ships into that warzone.
On the diplomatic front, I sent a note to Stas. And now of course, given recent history and that provision about South Velaria becoming a CSR protectorate, President Shinra is going to be taking a long, hard look at the Crimson Star Republic concerning their involvement in this whole mess, as well as harboring the suspicion that there was collaboration between both governments well before this day.

Yeah, I have 4 E-3 AWACS. They should be able to provide 24 hour combat support.

As it stands now, I am steadily re-evaluating my diplomatic ties, and you can be certain that the SNC conference due this week will be anything but civil.

So I had a thought. Wouldn't Astaria giving up their foreign policy decisions to Sirnoth also cancel out that Japanistani treaty as well? Thus allowing more than one power to attack Astaria without Japanistan having to respond? Essentially, Skimmer is off the hook WRT Astaria because of the Ben Dover Treaty. He doesn't have to do anything one way or another.
Of course multiple powers going against Astaria means going against Sirnoth and by extension the FUN, so it's basically just trading one protectitive entity for another.

The Ben Dover treaty is not prejudicial to the treaty with Japanistan. Note that if things had been slightly different, e.g. skimmer being an active player, he might have gotten the offer. As it is I went Sirnoth.

ZOR, RETRACT THAT POST NOW!
The entire FUN hasn't declared SHIT in regards to Shepistan, so please retract it
At least just DON'T declare WAR yet. Prepare for the eventuality, but DON'T.
PLEASE!

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
Though if Yeats is too much for you, here's some Shakespeare done in the style of an awesome Christopher Plummer character:
*spins in chair "Cry Havoc and let slip the Dogs of War!"

Considering this ruckus with Zoria, I think the words of Sir Mallory are more appropriate here:
"Then was the king wonderly wroth. And then the king sent him plain word again, and bade him be ready and stuff him and garnish him, for within forty days he would fetch him out of the biggest castle that he hath."
