A Civility class Carrier, 1 Moses Class Light Cruiser and 2 Jesus Class Destroyers are on thier way. They will establish fighter patrols and if the enemy is still present will spearhead the operation to remove them.

Reinforcements being prepped include another 4 Civility class carriers, 2 Headway class battleships, 3 Martyr Heavy Cruisers, 5 Allah Cruisers, 7 Moses Light Cruisers and 10 Jesus Destroyers.

What the hell could have been the motive behind this attack?
Let's examine the facts:

1: Imperator is a non military target, it is unlikely that this was a strike against the NRE state, such an attack would have more then likely happened on Earth. The losers in this attack would be the NRE's closest trading partners; Minmatar, DE, OU, the Mensa Dorian Hegemony and of course the NRE themselves through loss of trade.

2: These ships have never been encountered before, obviously they have had no prior involvement in galactic affairs until now. The question is, how would they have known what effect attacking Imperator would have?

3: These attackers also had to know exactly how much force would be required to overcome Imperator's defenses. They would have known that Octavia is one of the most war torn systems in the sector, still recovering from the emancipation wars.

All things considered I can think of two immediate possibilities.

1: That we've all been under surveilance for some time.
I find this one the least likely possibility due to the stepped up security we've had lately, including the stepped up ITASF patrols, not to mention local sensor nets and local military patrols.

2: They are working with someone else, perhaps someone with a grudge against the NRE or their allies, perhaps someone trying to destabilize the ITA, it may have even been a diversionary tactic.

The only way to know for certain is to continue the investigation. The first question is who would have had anything to gain from the attack?

The DE finds this deeply disturbing. Not ony was this carefully planned over a large amount of timme, but they dilberatly targeted civilianntagets in order to desabilize our alliance. Who could be this evil? We will be ncreasing patrols in our space, and activating the full planetary defense grid to fend off any possible attacks on us. an we will be sending ships t guard floater clusters all over our territory.
