Prius was certain that Nathan was oblivious to the fact that even using the pict-scanners to copy and produce new such images of Him on Terra by extension rendered the pict-scanners holy relics themselves, albeit not on the level of the actual images he carried...

"Thank you Pater ...well I must be off gentlemen and lady I \need to stow my gear as it were"
Nathan walked out of the room .Lena looked at Prius,Pater and Jolan.
"Put a guard on him? To be sure ...."

Put a guard on him? Truthfully, the man should be escorted by a contingent of marines, lest he drop some other priceless artifact in passing... Prius looks at Gix questioningly.

after stepping out of her quarters for her morning exercises the creature was still there and insisted on following her, while uttering that strange crying noise...

Nathan saw Lilliths follower and walked over to it."Hello Kitty"
He set his bag ,reahed into a pocket and pulled some jerky out and offered some to the cat.

Pater managed to get his eyes off of the picture and sat up further in his hospital bed.
"So, what's the situation planet and Stationside?"

"Overt rebellion has ended on the station. What remains is the purgings and the Affirmations of Faith, a task to which I will put the arbites to, and see to it that they carry out with proper zeal and ruthlessness."
His standing orders concerning the arbites are still in effect, and he plans to bring them back into line.

Pater turned to Gix. "Jolan, how's the investigation into the Wager going?"

Gix grimaced. "Severa's reporting nothing out of the ordinary. She said it looked like the crew got overprotective after losing their captain. And they probably have a skeleton or two in the closet, but they are probably the loyal members of the Imperium they claim to be. But she's withholding judgement until she's finished with a personal crosscheck."

"Understandable. Any leads on the Chaos Cult they encountered?"

by Imperial Overlord
"Yes, actually. Lots of data on who they are connected to and their trade partners over the entire subsector. The odds are good one of them turns out to be the front of another cult. The after ripples of their failed rising here may cause a dozen worlds to be freed from their disgusting taint. I will be heading to the surface shortly to conduct interrogations and see if we can dig out this PsyKing."

Prius looked at Gix at the mention of the PsyKing, his dark eyes narrowing at the very mention of the name. After a moment's stare, he nodded once, then looked away.
"If you will excuse me, inquisitors, I must tend to the arbites," he said, then continued without a trace of irony in his voice. "Does anyone have a plasma pistol I could borrow?"

"Good. Is there anything I can do to help that doesn't involve hand-to-hand combat?" He gestured to the bandages pinning his left arm and his chest.

"I would offer you mine, but considering that the PsyKing's resistance to my own powers I believe I have greater need of it," answered Gix. "Perhaps Inquisitor Novum's ship's arsenal will answer your needs."

"I don't know the extent of your powers, but anything subtle like a reading or scanning for a strong psyker would definitely be quite useful," answered Gix.

"Hrm. I'm sorry, that isn't really my line. I can do basic truth verification, but only with eye contact."

He looked at Gix, and nodded abruptly. "We need to catalogue and test my abilities." He didn't like any tools to be undefined or unrefined, and the nature of his powers were still something of a mystery to him. That he could take punishment beyond that of a normal man was a given, and he had tested just how far that would take him rather rigorously in the past few days, but beyond that...

Lillith entered the room:
reading while holding a purring subject....
felis domestic:
small predator kept to protect food supplies from small pests.
Only blanket inquistionary extermatus ever reversed.
It seems these creatures hunt the least servants of the ruinus powers.
and because of that they detect infestations rather well...
looking at the creature's snarling when facing gix, and the others..
It also says they don't like somepeople..

He didn't know what to make of Lillith. He had seen her in action, deadly like a dervish, something akin to an Eldar, in her way.
But even beyond the creeping disturbance she created by her mere presence was his fundamental lack of understanding of her personality. She seemed at once innocent and lethal. It was baffling.
Prius Ristani was cultivated to dislike that which he did not understand, and he was really starting to dislike this bizarre woman.

Gix backed away from the pariah. She was a loyal servant of the Emperor, but that did not make her any less an abomination against the natural order. If they didn't have their uses, he would happily exterminate the lot of them.

Pater couldn't move out of the way, and was therefore not only mentally blinded but also subject to the indignety of having a cat of unknown breeding jumping onto his lap and curling into a ball. That wasn't the sort of thing that was supposed to happen to an Inquisitor.

Prius stared at the cat, which was purring contentedly in Pater's lap.
"Is it supposed to be making such noises? Is it a threat? Do you want me to...?" he asked, raising his augmetic hand.

*purring contentedly*
*soon I will be able to shed the blood of chaos*
*soon my kind will have our revenge*
*good thing those food providing creatures can't scan us*

Pater hastily stopped him. "No, no. That means it's happy. I just hope it's been declawed."
