The one with the nuclear missiles? Suicide at one of the power plants with a strike, to stop it from pasting you.

The one where the nuke is aimed at you is #3 in Egypt. As usual, 2 words: Mammoth Tanks. Zipped through it kinda fast but managed to take out the silo before the power plants, and left the HQ building until last to complete the other objectives first.

I just rapidly built up a strike force of APC's, shoved all my Zone troopers and any I could make in time into said APCs and charged through the base and up to the silo. Knocked it out comfortably before the timer hit.
I'm half thinking next time to shove an engineering unit into one of the APC's next time and see if I can capture said nuclear silo....
Still, my troopers and APC's were all star level by the time by Mammoth tanks relieved them. I had lost about half the force in their mad dash to the nuke and didn't really see any point to risk breaking out, just left them there like a cancer in their rear area, with the zone troopers on foot around the APC's and blasting anything that got close.

Nick Parker, *the* commando (as in he has a present for you): Who's been with the GDI from the very beginning, back when the UN wasn't supposed to have a military and the GDI was just a multinational team of assassins. He's got to be like a million years old by now.

Sadly, Renegade lacked any feature allowing you to drop some NOD scum left-handed.

I think you could change the config files for what hand was the preferred side the gun was drawn on.

Get 2 airfields. 1 should do but the second one is insurance. 6 to 8 Orcas, move around the left side of the base and hit the powerplants. This should give you enough time to get the units in place to dissable the silo permanently.
Airlift an outpost to that blue tiberium field you flew over, build a refinery and barracks. then a tech center, start mass producing rocket troops & zone troopers at your outpost. By this time the powerplant(s) destroyed by you should be rebuild. If you are not sure you have enough units send in a small group to take out a powerplant again. Rinse and repeat until you think you have enough units.

I'm trying to figure out what the fuck is wrong with my copy. My computer ran the game fine through the tutorial, but it fucks up and crashes as soon as I tried to play the GDI or Nod campaigns. And I updated to 1.04. So what the fuck is going on?!
Any and all help is appreciated.

You getting any error messages or logs? Tried reinstalling it?

I get random CTDs on C&C3, usually after playing for more than an hour. There's always a Direct3D error window. It only happens on my machine, and not Matthew's machine, so I guess I can put up with it. Still annoying as hell, though. I've gotten used to frequently saving.

I'm assuming your graphic card drivers are fully up to date?
There was a new patch recently for mine within the last two weeks IIRC.

I got CTDs for my first three play sessions or so. After that, I didn't get a thing. How strange.

I couldn't load the GDI missions at all, but I got far as capturing the command post on the first Nod before the thing crashed on me.
Updated my drivers, but it's not doing me much good. Clusterfuck.
Maybe it's only for the campaigns (the tutorial worked just fine)

C&C1 was in the 1990s and C&C3 is only in 2047 so he could still be alive. He'd be old, but it's definately in the realm of possibility.

Can you view C&C3 replays without C&C3? Like, can you save your replays as video files for others to watch?

I'm more worried about the park where he's still Captain:D

Well, I've been playing MP a bit. The balance seems to be reasonably fair, and there are few utterly useless units. Some units are worse than others of course...
Any strategy discussion? As it is, the best spam unit it seems is the scorpion.

I be interested in any ideas on how to beat Brutal. Even the good old "take out harvesters" tactic isn't very viable against them.

Are you kidding? It's buzzers all the way! A veritable sea of tiny sharp things washing through all those garrisoned buildings and into your base, eating (not really) everything!

3 of us beat a Brutal Turtle. We felt like kings.

Does the Brutal AI cheat? I observed an allied Brutal AI for a short while, and I don't see from where else it could have gotten the rescources for that neverending spam of troops.

Apparently, it gets a 2x resource bonus.

I used 5 medium AI and myself....... We barely won.

Scorp spam is indeed brutally effective. Once they get their upgrades, the fast and cheap scorp horde has already reigned in the enemy--if used aggressively, and it remains as a great and inexpensive way to harass things. GDI's tanks are okay for that, but Scrin's are just horrific.
There's some debate about the validity of Seeker-spam. However, I've never been impressed by them versus other tanks, so I don't know what to base my estimation on. I know I don't like Tripods except for base defense. Scrin really rely too heavily on infantry. Not that infantry are bad, but crushable sniperbait are too easily handled to be an effective counter to Mammoths, Scorps, and so on.

Turtle the hell up. Have an ally.
Preferrably, you'd choke up your base so that it's defended by GDI Sonic guns and Scrin storm towers. The sonic turrets slaughter units of any size, in quantity... while the storm column takes out stragglers and one-shots aircraft.
When the enemy's tib field runs out, hit them with commando-type attacks to vulnerable sides, using shadows, airlifted troops or commandos.

Yes it does. I was playing a 3 vs 3 once against three brutals and they continued to attack with far greater numbers than any of the human numbers could field, after nearly all the tiberium was gone.
