I had a good time watching the OSU-Wisc. game from a decidedly pro-Wisconsin restaraunt/grill/bar. 8)

I rather enjoyed the Navy win over ND. :)

Arizona beating UCLA was a bit of a surprise. It seems like Arizona has finally got some idea of what it's doing with it's new offense but I still thought UCLA would be looking to pay us back for last year.

Arizona has an ass whoopin' by the Ducks lined up next week but I'm still hopeful that they might get a little bit of "fuck you" in and upset ASU this year. That seems to be pretty much all we can hope for out of Mike Stoops' teams.

The opportunity to win the goddammed game is right there. Just 45 seconds. Brandon Walker makes that kick and no way Navy's coming back.

This is a no-brainer. But, evidently, not for Charlie "Stupor-Genius" Weis, WHO INSTEAD DECIDES TO GO FOR IT rather than run the risk of actually winning the fucking game. The ball got turned over, embarassingly, on a QB sack and fumble, and we go into three overtimes which should never have been necessary to play.

Sure, Walker could have missed and the game goes to overtime anyway. But to not even take the chance to win in regulation?!

The Notre Dame players showed they'd managed to become an actual college team, played a grueling hour of classic, grind-em-up football on the ground, matched Navy score for score. But Charlie Weis pissed all their effort away because he thought going for it on 4th and 8 was a sure thing.

Sorry, Charlie, you're not Les Miles. You're not Nick Saban. You're not even Bob Davie and you couldn't shine Ty Willingham's shoes.
Wait, I missed this game; he did what? For fuck's sake, just fire him. The only comparable play that I can think of off the top of my head is the LSU game a couple weeks back, but that was with 11 seconds left, it wasn't 4th down and barring a turnover would have given them enough time to kick a walk-off field goal.

But on a fourth down, in field goal range and you don't kick the field goal? Idiot.

I'm not even an ND fan and that pisses me off.

The Upset Season strikes again —Ohio St. falls to Illinois today 28-21. If LSU prevails over La. Tech, the Tigers are back up to n.1.

Damn, LSU are just curb-stomping Tech. Jacob Hester just made an 87 yd rushing play for the touchdown to put the score up at 37-7 in the third quarter. I think the Tigers are reclaiming the number 1 slot in the polls tonight.

Goddammit, goddammit, god-fucking-dammit!!!!! The very first fucking touchdown Illinois scored came off what should have been a turnover! At the end of that long play, the Illinois guy clearly fumbled the ball, and OSU recovered in the endzone, should be a touchback and Buckeye football. But no, nobody reviews it, it's not challenged, nothing! Then, for another touchdown, Illinois recievers set a fucking pick right in the middle of the field! It was blatant pass interference, it's illegal!!!!! But no, it doesn't get called. Bullshit. :x

I don't like the idea of making excuses, but those 2 fucking plays should not have happened the way they did, and without those, OSU wins again.

Bah, polls didn't budge. Still Number 2 all around. Maybe what DF was screaming about was why.

What bullshit. Ohio St. loses to an unranked team but still hangs onto number 1?

Its hilarious to me the Maryland is 5-5 but has knocked two teams out of the top 10 this season with basically a patch and stitch o-line and linebacker corps.

Has anyone else gotten tired of hearing how much "greater" it is that the SEC and Big 12 have championship games?

I think the championship games work well for those conferences given their sizes but I get tired of the comments which lump all conferences which don't have championship games into the same category.

The Pac-10 may not have the extra stress of having a championship game but all the teams in the conference actually play each other. Which to me makes more sense than playing only a few teams from your own conference and then potentially getting a rematch game in the championship game.

Now there are conferences like the Big Ten which should all either be playing each other or they need to add another team so they can have a championship game. At the very least they should have added another conference game when the NCAA allowed teams to play 12 games a season instead of plugging another cupcake team into that slot.

So, remind me again how two one-loss teams are ranked above an undefeated team...

Because they play a tougher schedule and have beaten more quality teams.

How about Arizona knocking off the #2 Oregon Ducks last night.

Now if Mike Stoops could only figure out how to get his teams to be somewhat decent at the begining of the season and kind of tie that in with how they tend to be at the end of the season.

Seems nobody this year can hang on to a top ranking for very long. Makes you wonder who's going to be number 1 next week.

After all is said and done an undefeated Hawaii might still make it to the championship game because everyone keeps knocking each other off.

I'm a very colorful person. Orange and brown, scarlet and gray, wine and gold, red white and blue, and my HS is blue and white.

Edit: OSU up 7-3, 1:14 left in the first half.

I found it to be honorable that both of them decided to stay because some things were more important than money. It didn't work out well for them, but they had the heart to stay, and even gut out some serious injuries, to play against Ohio State.

Also, #2 Oregon lost to Arizona; and #4 Oklahoma falls to Texas Tech, so the upsets keep comin'.

Ah, LSU won like I thought they would: Ponderous, messy, crude, sloppy, shootout asskicking. They let far too much Ole Miss attacks blow through their line, all the while catching far too many penalty calls and injuries. Arkansas next Friday isn't gonna be so forgiving!
