The funny thing being I posted in my description that the BR's military was pretty useless because they followed the bad movie logic. Yes, the Bear Republic doesn't have any heavy army because their whole military are either Navy/Airforce, or air (including Zepplins) capable Commando type troops. Their body armour is the same suits seen in Starship Troopers and Firefly. Their primary weapon appears to be P90s, though side arms are pretty impressive since they include silverballers, deagles, .44 automags, M1911s, Glocks, Berrettas, etc. Since the whole military of the BR, is designed to look good and be scary on movies and TV this works. That's not to say we don't have anti-armour weapons we do. It's just to say that the Bear republic depends on close air support in the form of Helos and Zepplins for their infantry.

On the other hand all of my military is airliftable, and rapidly deployable.


To be exact my military has two main infantry units:
1. Peacemakers, who are part police, part ninja, air liftable commandos
2. Nazgûl: the penal legion of the Bear Republic, officially they don't exist, but they do have better equipment.

Anyway, for anyone who does not want to get caught up in this Cold War nonsense and prefers to trade and hang out in island paradise beaches (beaches, man), the FUNGAL UNION OF NATIONS is open for everyone.

We'll trade with you, help you out diplomatically, and protect you from pirates and Goddamn Libertopians.

Travel is very free between our countries, and since there are a lot of us, the tourism and trade options are very wide - there's a HUEG selection.

We also have an interpol equivalent. The Fungal Bureau of Investigation.

And I am contemplating the creation of a Fungal Foreign Legion. Join up and you can be a citizen of any (and all?) Fungal nations!

I like the idea of a Foreign Legion, but it ought to be called the Fungal United Legion of Lunatics, or FULL (of troublemakers).

Pretty good. You have sat out the recent tensions, then:
1) merge the LUN and FUNGAL
2) changing the nature of the alliance to free trade and travel, a considerable move to tighter integration

Pretty good, I say.

Note how most alliances (OMSK and FUN) have grown to be more EU-like in nature - evolving into something like a weak confederate state with free travel rules.

I don't know of the MESS (they didn't post alliance specs regarding trade and travel anywhere), but I believe sooner or later they will move to the EU model as well.

Wilkens is working on something now. In the meantime, what I can safely say is that we accept applications for membership (where that "closed alliance" business came from I don't know) and we have a single bank, the Regulatory OmniBank, or ROB. Our currency is thus the ROB (or more formally, the Regulatory OmniBank Credit, but we prefer ROB ).

And for those following along at home, my little stress-relief outburst there is not a normal thing. The only reason it happened is because I was among friends. Just like the little bouts of introspection, that stuff happens only privately or among those I have known and trusted for some time. Out in public or among those I don't know so well (ie other heads of state) I keep my cool.

Crossroads, our side of the story (if you meant the crisis) is pretty simple.

Lonestar did nuclear testing which slipped through the world's attention meter. Our nuclear test caused indignation.

The RT ran some drones over Lonestar's territory to confirm the number of blasts since our Landsats offer resolution only up to 60 m and Beowulf was insinuating we were wrong in the number of tests.

Utlimately Beowulf then claimed that a drone of mine fell on Hokkaido in Tian Xia and killed 10 people.

Since the drone did not pass over Beowulf, but headed for Lone Star, and it had some 1500 more KM range to fly, I assumed that Beowulf downed the drone, and either the dead are the military team who went to pick it up but it exploded as they came near and started to put out the fire, or real civilians, but in any case, Beowulf downed the drone on his own nation's heads. Or they just don't exist.

Beo and Lonestar then claimed that they were fluffy bunnies and never agressive, and that we don't have the intelligence to state anything.

Now I have no diplomatic ties with either.
