MRDOD wrote:What the fuck is going on with Virginia though? It's 50% done, with NOVA being counted, and yet it's still a ton of votes behind (50k). North Carolina is ahead of Virginia.
Fairfax County is only at 23%, Prince William at 32%, Loudon at the 40%. All of those counties have HUGE numbers of voters (Fairfax county is a 1mil person county) however there were ballot problems so its likely as not that it will take quite some time before we finish getting results out of that. Anyway its down to <20k as of now.

"We aren't allowed to call it because there are people still on the west coast, but I can't see a way for him to make up Ohio's electoral votes" --MSNBC.
Pennsylvania is 18% reported, 67% Obama, 33% McCain. McCain appears to have wasted his time- even the rural alabama racist sections are blueing.

I think it's glorious how Chris Matthews refers to the McCain states as "the Confederacy".

Well, right now it looks like Virginia will be a real nail biter.
Indiana looks ok for Obama.
North Carolina and Florida look like they are going Obama.
IMO, We are currently looking at atleast 330 electoral votes for Obama, 350 likely, 375 possible.

I'm watching BBC, and Ambassador Bolton is on as a mouthpiece for the Bush Administration. What is it about this guy that makes me hate him so much? Compared to Bolton, Tony Snow was downright lovable.

Pensacola and its suburbs and Miami and Palm Beach are coming in on Florida. They appear to be counterbalancing eachother.
55% reported, 150,000 lead.
Obama 51%

194 to 54. I pity the poor journalists who can't yet call it and have to keep pretending McCain could pull it off.

Oregon or Washington and Hawaii and California will get him winning. Olbermann is making fun of how it's illegal to call the race: "Now, I'm not too good at math, but doesn't this mean Obama has to win very few states?"
New Mexico Senate called for Democrats. McConnell called for win. MSNBC is calling a lot of senate races now. Will update later.

Tony Snow used to be a news anchor, he knew how to project an image of affability. He may have been absolute nuts but he held himself as a smart and rather humorous spokesman. Bolton is a self important self righteous asshole.
