Yeah, an Action IV class freighter with a few surprises.
Gentlemen, i beleive i have found our perfect transport/mobile base 8)

At 200 metres it's 3 cargo bays are large enough for our needs, it's a ship type that is known and ignored throughout the SW universe. In an emergency it can dump the bays and be a fast way out of trouble.

Layout : Bay1 = 2 Sentinel class shuttles, plus any ground vehicles.#
Bay2 = 2 lambda class shuttles, main Armoury.#
Bay3 = 1 XG-1 Starwing, Long-term supply stowage.#

# (Plus anything else we can think of over time.)

We keep the crew quarters,briefing rooms and Mess in the ships body. In normal circumstances the Vessel acts only as a launch point for missions and will be on the peripherary of operational area's. If however the shit hits the fan and the vessel itself is attacked, we jettison the bays, the pilots take the small craft and their ready-loads into Hyperspace while the XG-1 provides interference. The main ship also runs and what's left in the Bays goes boom. That way we all make it out and the majority of lost stuff is largely replacable.

Any thoughts?

Possible, but I still would put the Action series from CEC forward as an possibility. Also something for consideration is the good old Bulk Freighter from Damorian Manufacturing.

My thought was that the main vessel should never really be in harms way, but should have the ability to operate as a base, but if it's ever compromised it can escape with minimum loses to equipment. Afterall a dedicated warship vs a civvie Q-ship... i know who my money's on. I all for putting in ECM and Boosting the engines and beefing up the defences, but the mobile base should never be intended for fighting. Still it's up to us all, so we need imput from the others.

I get a 404 on that link, is this the same ship?

I like it? but I really wanted 3 bays/pods so we can have a dedicated defense hangar as well as platoon transport hangar and group transport hangar. And i liked the extra 100m of space in all bays and the ship. But that's just me.

Right that's me till tomorrow, don't kill too many people. :D

Well as an alternative thought there's always teh Ngiht Crawler variant on the Corvette which must have at least enough room for some landspeeders and a full squadron of X-Wing fighters. Given that rather generous space I'd have to say it would hold most anything we would need.

Damn, completely missed this thread.
Specialist, E-4, Army Reserves, Transportation, 88 Hotel
(Cargo Specialist(Stevedore for the uninitiated)), Still in the service(well, as much as any reservist is). Not sure how applicable my skills would be in a sci-fi environment, droids could almost certainly do my job better than I ever could.
