It's a state run news agency. I see you missed the Anarcho-Terrorist tag. It's an effort to make you look bad if it comes to war. Plus that spamming could be heard from quite a distance. Additionally, you did it not only in one system, but in multiple systems.
Also, it was over a significant portion of the Galaxy, which really can be rather small...

No sane person lets outsiders acess the network, but if the network has any points of entry, those can be collapsed, leading to no exterior communications.
It won't collapse in a moment, or kill the interior network, but I suppose thats a way someone could shut it down...
EDIT: This line of thinking is in no way serious.

Nitram, you do realize just where the Hub is, right? My entire fleet's going to go apeshit as soon as they learn that the Corsairs have a battle fleet in the sector, and they'll find out pretty soon, as the convoy I sent is due to arrive at any moment.

Good! Stuff to do. That battlefleet isn't exactly quiet; Corsair engines trade alot for sheer brute-forcing through the badlands.
