Gix extended his psychic sense, getting the ebb and flow of probabilities and dangers. The PsyKing was engaging in an orgy of destruction, but to what point? His internal attack could only inflict so much damage. All the hives had void shield generators to protect them from external attack. What was he missing?

Fuck. His head snapped toward the Commodore.

"Commodore! I think something's happening down at the enginarium. I just tried to reach my troops down there, and they didn't respond."

What Gix was missing was the Cacophany-class Chaos Escort, constructed out of Archaeotech, sporting a Discord Field and painstakingly freeing itself from it's underground womb.

Severa lead her troopers towards the enginerium. Some things you hand to handle yourself and after dealing with those traders, she was in the mood to kill someone.

"How long till we have to abandon the station Commodore?"

Leading to the Engineerum was a trail of bodies, some dismembered, others seemingly drained of blood.

"It depends. We're all but invulnerable to conventional attack; Sabotage, however... I think we should be ready for anything." She pointed at the fleet ripping itself apart. "I can't raise anyone anymore."

I hate this shit, Severa thought. Where the hell is Jolan? Might as well hope for a miracle. "This is Lieutenant Valin. I am attempting to retake the engineerium. Assistance would be appreciated." She checked the read outs of her auspex and moved her troops into position. It was go time.

Nathan turned ,hearing Severas voice " This is Talsrtrem enroute wait till I arrive before any heroics "


He looked once at Lena beforerunning out of the room.

Using a fibreoptic camera Severa was able to see a Heretical Techpriest doing something mysterious and techno-magical to the Primary Cogitator. There were no signs of whatever had massacred the troopers.

Well rape this, Severa thought. "Storm!" she cried, sending the lead elements of her troopers into the room. The heretic techpriest was on the recienving end of the las in her gun skull and the plasma pistol in her hand.

A fragment of what Gix had sensed leaked through to Adivan, standing on the bridge of the Starfort. The details were lost, but he got the general idea; something terrible was about to emerge from Hive Primus. He shouted at Lena again.

"Commodore, instruct your gunners to target the area around Hive Primus. Don't fire, but they need to be prepared to do so at a moment's notice. Something terribly, terribly dangeorus is emerging from there, and I want it fired upon the moment we have a clear shot."

It was a mistake, as Severa soon discovered when the missing Chaos Space Marines, ready in prepared emplacements, opened fire.

She and her troops took cover. The reserves returned fire. At least carapace armour gave some protection from bolter fire and her refractor field gave her even more. How in the Emperor's name did the fool all the sophisticated and powerful auspexes in her hunter skull? No time for that now. She drew her bolter in the other hand and alternated the archaeotech weapons, firing armour piercing Kraken rounds when the plasma pistol recharged.

Nathan moves in ,tosses a smoke grenade and vdives for cover "Shit .....welll we found the rest of them"

Mortragor dropped his interference field and appeared behind the troopers, severing heads from bodies with powerful swings. He roared, a bestial sound that caused several troopers to piss their pants and cower in the corner.

An inquisitor. Goodie. One of them decided that saving the raping fort their asses currently resided in was a good idea. "They have some kind of stealth system," she yelled as she waited for it. One of the traitor's tried to pick Talstrem off as he threw smoke and headed for cover. Predictable. She blew his chest open with her plasma pistol.

"Understood.How many traitors?"

The roar of battle allowed Mortragor to operate with Severa noticing him for a moment. One moment. She holstered her bolt pistol and drew her power sword. I really hope inquisitor Talstrem is all he's cracked up to be, she thought.

Nathan threw a weapon at Severa ,as he shouldered his own and fired. The plasma rigle shot hit a marine in the chest.

"I stole them from the armory on the way here"

The Marines started throwing Frag and Krak grenades; They obviously weren't concerned about keeping the Engineerum intact.

"Legion!" Jolan yelled. "You're going to have to make your own way!" He hoped the pariah would make it. The idea of the PsyKing stuck in the same room with Legion was quite appealing. He gathered his strength and with a surge of power propelled Hethor and himself onto the deck of the rising ship. A little telekinetics served to open the hatch and then they were through.

Hethor hit the deck in front as Gix considered their options. The PsyKing must have some kind of plan for dealing with the Ramiles class starfort. A fraction of its cruiser killing fire power would vape a ship this size easily. He's not that sloppy and despite his obvious vanity, apparently can keep hold of his temper.

Payback is fair play. "Hethor. Let's visit the engineerium."

3 CSMs, making a total of 8 (Including Mortragor), sneaked behind the Troopers liberating the Engineerum and opened fire with Meltaguns.

Lena noticed the Star Fort's fire starting to slacken. "Why are we holding fire?"
"I don't know, Commodore. We seem to be losing power to the weapons batteries."
All that energy had to be going SOMEwhere.

"Inquisitor!" Severa yelled and pointed at Mortragor with her power sword. She and Nathan had already accounted for a marine each and her troops were pouring hellgun and krak grenade fire at the survivors. "I heard you took out a Chaos Lord. How about a two on one?" She surpressed one of the surviving chaos marines with a plasma burst, although whether she scored any hits she couldn't tell. She leaped foreward to engage the fearsome killing machine.

She saw the meltas and dodged to the side. They needed a new plan. All the Black Legion troops had been acounted for. Every last one. Where had these come from?

Nathan grined wickedly. a traitor marine spun and spewed the meltaguns shot into Mortragor as he wss hit multiple times by hellgun fire.
