"Admiral Connor?"
"Yes?"
"We've recived word that the floaters have engaged the Black Forest Task Group"
"How many ships do we have that can assist them?"
"The Pride of covelan, two battleships four cruisers, six frigates and two carriers"
"Send them a message, tell them we await permission to enter the combat zone"

"I hate just sitting here and doing nothing. It would take just ONE of our Juggernauts to put that Black Forest out of commision for good. Hell, one Will-to-Power, load it up with Xerons, Barrelats and a pile of Interdictor drones and they'll be back in time for breakfast."
"Orders from the top brass. With relations between the Asgard and the Floaters the way they are we are not to interfere."

[Minmatar navy expansion]
Prosperity has allowed the Minmatar to recently complete pre-planning expansions to it's navy. This includes an increase in the number of sub capital craft.
Newly Constructed:
20 Barrage class gunships
20 Senator class missileships
20 Sword class frigates
With these additions to the Minmatar navy, sub-capital forces can now acompany capital ship task groups providing more adequate cover fire.

First of the "ITA Standard Utility Ships" trade vessels have just left slip, these ships run on a standardized design, copied extensively from the major powers.
The first of these ships "Nameless" has been sent to the DE.

The Pan-Slavic expeditionary force, more than sixty capital ships strong, came into the system. The FTL inhibitors forced them to come out of warp at a long range from the Kokand, but they had expected this, and angled in. So the Kokand found a large fleet positioned to block their exit from the system.

No OU warship will ever carry armed soldiers from a possibly hostile nation.
You misunderstand my navy's view of an armed ship, it views a ship with the ability to hit another ship in a hostile way as armed. And we aren't talking about warships, they are banned from Far Point and the convoyes that are taken there by the Monacoran Navy, we are talking about normal frieghters and transport liners.

Kali, OU military research base:
"Well, we seem to have gotten the Hyper-generator miniturized enough to be able to fit it into a missile body. If we mate the innards to the M-27C missile to it, we should be able to get to to work. We'll probably have to increase the power core size, to be able to supply the power that the hyper-generator needs. We should have a working FTL KE missile available in the next few weeks."
Elsewhere on Kali:
The refugees were training heavily. Soon it would be time to return, and take back their homeland. With the modern military equipment that they would be receiving, along with the resistance movement already in progress, they would be able to strike a blow hard enough against their subjugators that they would be free from their tyranny. The Emperor would return.
(OOC: The above force will be supplied with a mix of weapons from nearly the entire Known Space. This force is under my control for the time being.)

CPT. Albert Jericho slowly lowered the Dragoon helicopter into the pad inside the exhibition floors. Towards the tail end of where the helicopter would soon be landing were the numerous booths, spread out on three seperate floors to demonstrate new technology, this was of course seperated from the helicopters landing bay by some of the strongest opaque armor there was to protect them from any recoil or blast from the weapons range which was layed out in front of the helicopter. The range it self was shieled and designed to take on incredibly high impact rounds, and high explosives on one end, and on the other it was designed to take small arms and other man-mounted weapons. Too the right side of the helicopter, now touched down on the landing bay, was the enterence for vehicles, while above the helicopter was a removable armoured roof that slid away to allow air dropped craft in. To the left was the small arms section, each partioned off, and with the option of having a dummy equiped in multiple forms of armor put at the other end. While three miles away the Aircraft and Aero-Space craft firing range was being installed. Attached to the vending area behind the helicopter were rather large statley accomadations, with resturants and a casino attached. While they had just rushed the construction for the IDEX, the new expo center had been in the building for a long time, and was finally ready for use, with a few small adjustments made by the government.
Jericho looked around at the bay, soon his helicopter would go through the simulated firingrounds here, before heading out to the aircraft range to show how well it could fly and fight, and after that one hundred of these things would be auctioned off to the highest bidder, of course it wouldn't include his helicopter he thought.

Construction Franchise Request.
To DE:
From Fenari
Subject: Franchise of Heavy Bomber *modified* type permission to run, Technical Specs included.
We have been testing useage of two new designs using your standard "Heavy Bomber" frame as the test bed. We were able to obtain these through our Position as TTASF Ministery of Security.
The two "Protoypes" are designated "Munin" (Recon), and Hugin (Drone Carrier) We are asking permission to use your basic "Chasis" for full production models, rather then having to design our own Huperspace capable heavy parasite ship.
To: Orion Corp
From: Fenris
Subject: Drone/Driod tech.
The new technology has ubgraded our manufacturing potential greatly, also the adoption of standard ITA based space drones, has increased our mining and combat potentials. Thank you for your patronage/help.
Retooling Updates: Fenari Industrial Worlds are now 60% upgraded, 30% of all of our shipyards, and 10% of our mining vessels have been upgraded.
This has resulted in increases as follows.
Industrial Production: Up 40% (Partially lowered due to costs of manufacturing more upgrades for the remaining infrastructure)
Shipyards: Now at 90% of normal (With 25% of our shipyards being retooled), and Mining is now at 115% of normal. As soon as the Refits are done, Manufacturing should almost double in potential output, Shipyards will be operating at 130% of normal officiancy, and our large mining operations should increase as well.

"Disregard that, they might have the numbers but they're spread too thin."
The Slavs had spread their forces to far across the possible exit vector and the Kokand already had an impressive veloctiy built up. All it would take was a short delay on the Slavs part and they would be unable to bring the
Black Forest taskgroup under fire. Already the carriers and their escorting had escaped into hyperspace.

The
Empress Jessica and her new battlegroup were pulled into real space prematurely. It was a wrenching crash translation.
"Contacts fore and aft, Admiral."
"Interpose wedges. I don't want either of them getting a clear shot. And hail them, I want to see if we can talk this down."
***
The massive fleet rolled, their impenetrable wedges held between the two force. Frantic messages hurtling back and forth between all of them. It as a mess.
As the Asgard warships accidentally screened them the Kokand used them for cover. They'd be free before the Asgard could ever get out of the way.

When did this happen?
My fleet is still quite intact. Against my main fleet you have launched:
1 fighter strike (with the fighter load of only two carriers, versus 6 carrier loads and a lot of escorts)
1 missile barrage
I have a dozen Strike Cruisers, split from the main fleet, which you fired upon with one volley of EMP missiles. I still dispute your claims that you can so easily overload the systems of vessels such as mine, which exchange energy shields for tough construction and heavilt redundant systems.
My fleet is largely intact, thank you very much.

(you forgot the Kokands follow up salvo directed against the remaining fleet. Rather than bicker this back and forth how about we just say both remaining forces get away relatively undamaged? Your remaining ships are undamaged, the rest of the task group escapes)

(Yeah, as I said in my previous post:
1 missile barrage
)
From your numerically inferior fleet against mine. Fewer missiles against more PD. Uh uh.
Damaged? yes.
Blown away completely?
Hell no!

Two missles salvos. One from a fleet that has more tubes than you've got PD. Like I said, your fleet won't be in fighting shape even if they survive.

Where do you get this fact? You fleet is SMALLER. considerably so. My capital ships mount considerable point defense, thank you very much, and I have more of them on the field than you do.
You have a pirate force, outnumbered and outgunned. Don't try to claim that your fleet is better, friend- it isn't. An equal number of ships on both sides, well, that's a different keg of fish.
I sent more than enough military vessels to take out the Kokanders, their stolen Asgard assistants, and the OU ships (800 antiship missile tubes on a light cruiser? gimme a break

And he was claiming that I had too many fighters in my carriers

800 anti fighter missiles tubes, which can help against a enemy warship as well... And the trend for aircraft, which are significantly less complicated than a spaceship, is for decreased fighters per ton as a trend since the invention of the carrier. Early carriers had 3 fighters / kton. Modern carriers have 1 fighter/kton...

Did you even look at the stats for a Black Forest-class ship? It's a freaking heavy bruiser to begin with. And the fact that I managed to suprise you with the missles.
You got beaten, just accept it already.

Ah, thank you. I myself like to use 800 year old military philosophy when planning MY modern army. I hear that the trend is from disordered units to tight-knit phalanx blocks, maybe we should have our boys in the Middle East travel in squares.
I will treat your antifighter light cruiser as a particularly good antifighter light cruiser. As for destroying 800 fighters every 10 seconds, well....

On the IDEX the way this is going to work is that it's going on for a month (game-time), culminating in the last week where everything is presented, and the auctions take place.

I saw the stats. If this is a balanced game, we will assume that it will act as it is intended- a large, powerful dreadnought, a match for any other dreadnought on the field, certainly.
I will not treat it as a God-ship. I made my Fleet before Sea Skimmer, using weapons densities based off of what Phongn gave for his vessels in the opening OOB thread. Sea Skimmer chose to totally ignore the standard, and heaped tens of thousands of weapons onto his warship. I will treat his vessel as it was obviously intended- a big powerful dreadnought. NOT unstoppable.

He (Seaskimmer) himself did say that the powers he gave were too much, and should be downgraded.
