*Is afraid to look.* I have a carrier battle group at Alpha Centauri for just this eventuality...

You know, every time someone obviously doesn't read my OOB I die a little more inside...

Ehhhh... I don't think my battle group at Alpha Centauri stands a chance against that. :o

I know you have shields for the screening of large craft. That's why you're getting tiny pods, like from the novel of Starship Troopers raining down. Like bird poop, in HELL.

A shield that just prevents all engagements is dull! You get to show off your army this way.

I know.

The shields under your bombardment are going to last two hours, three hours tops. The entire idea is to allow my Army more time to prepare, deploy, and rip to shreds. Not to prevent engagements...

Okay. Rogue 9's posts have pushed up two hours or so, should we just run with it for now then?

Rogue 9, your guys are already hidden far away from the Ballroom.

Ah. Consider that a rewind, then. The guards would do that at the first sign of trouble.

Fighting the Overseer, Lesson 1: Do not cluster where the Overseer is landing. He will nuke you til you glow, THEN land.

Nitram, dont make planetfall yet. I am assuimng that many fleets will be on their way to help, and would have a good 3 hours of transit time under their belts by the time you broke through the shield. Posting a breakthrough now is cheap becaue it doesnt give the people who are logged off time to rally at Alpha Cent to counter.

Fighting the KSN lesson one: Do not threaten the emperor, or they will bend you over and make you squeal like a pig.

That would still give him an hour and half until the Camaro reinforcements arrived. It's safe to say that only cursory reinforcements could arrive prior to that- they'd be better off waiting for the main fleets to return.

I know. I am just saying that he should know what is coming. If someone logs on later tonight and says "oh, I was moving with everyone else and so I'm there now, horribly tilting the battle" isnt fair to anyone.

I have Sixth Fleet deployed all over the place. I think its fair to say that I could boost the battle group already at Alpha Centauri by a couple destroyer squadrons and maybe a couple of cruisers, but nothing big enough to make an immediate attack feasible.

By the by, my missile volley got ignored as usual. At least it was just a battleship's refit complement this time instead of a Warhammer cruiser's honking huge wave of nukes, but can we please not just ignore me when I start lobbing missiles?

Heh- this has played more or less perfectly into out friend Nitram's hands- All my fast-response mobile fleet assets are currently deployed, as are those of most powers. Krynor really did a numb er on us, eh?

I fully expect a fleet capable of several asskicking to come down upon me. I think it would be unthinkable for a nation not to scramble back to Alpha Cent in this situation to join the massive party.

Straha, please post wherein our leaders are being protected. Seeing as how I have placed my nation's leadership in your hands, I would be very much interested in knowing how they are being protected....

You lobbed sixty missiles against something on the other of a hundred thousand ready and waiting Point Defense guns. Would you like to know the numerical chances?

A single battleship's single volley against a full fleet would almost certainly be shot down to the last missile.

I am somewhat upset by the notion that my entire force just got hosed by some EMPs.

Okay, I'm over it. More bird poop from HELL, coming right up.

Fair enough. As long as you are willing to accept anyone who says they have showed up. And given estimates on shield power and travel time.... what say you to having the fleet arrive about an hour after you first break through the shield? Not only is that a realistic estimate, that seems to be enough time for you to do some damage while leaving us enough time to make the save.
