Around the restaraunt, inside and out, a small group of harpers were stationed, prepared to defend Raistlin bodily if need be. they carried no weapons, their fists and feet being more than capable. They positioned themselves in such a manner that they could leap in the way of any attack if any of them felt something..odd in the weave
Raistlin himself was wearing an armored cowel, it would protect him from most rifle rounds and was made of a woven form of Adamantite combined with crytaline structures that would absorb energy.
Raistlin himself could literally feel and detect magic. If it left him, even for a moment, his harpers would leap in front of him, nd that table would make an excellent shield.

A few ships approached the ravaged Earth. When they encountered other vessels, they hailed, stating "We understand this world has been seriously damaged and is presently unable to be self-sustaining. We of Dyson Technologies will, at low cost, be willing to sell your reconstruction forces genetically modified photosynthetic bacteria and algae, in robotic assemblies to keep under control; as well as machines that exchange dissolved ocean water and the atmosphere at much greater speed than normal; to stablilze the worlds atmosphere."

Veithan star system, outer edge
The Superdreadnought Balder, accompanied by 2 light carriers and 10 fast destroyers, swallowed out into normal space outside of the Veithan system.
They immediately called the Veithan space control, and gracefully accelerated inwards. They made certain to show all their perfection in maneuvring as one. They just wanted to make the best of impressions.
Crown Prince Jorn looked at the image of the planet, floating before him in Datanet.
<<Mudballs...>> he muttered. <<Why do they all have to live on such...confined things...>>
<<Your majesty,>> he Chief of Staff chuckled. <<Believe it or not, our ancestors, lost in time, once had to do so as well.>>
<<But still...>> he fell silent for a while. <<At least the Veithan are acceptable and friendly enough.>>

As you are a state reemerging to the galactic political scene, we mark your progress with concern. As several nations have proven, known space is a region fraught with hostility and violence, and there is little trust and safety to be had. In the interest of helping your nation and thus preserving the balance of power in your immediate sector of known space, we would like to exchange a few pleasantries.
Items for your consideration:
1-- Mutual non-aggression pact, neither of us shall attack the other unless this agreement should be officially dissolved; may such circumstances never come to pass.
2-- Cordial agreement and exchange of diplomatic staff. Both nations will agree to respect the interests of the other, and to further this aim, an exchange of embassies will be organized. Buildings for this purpose will be made available on Temesvar, with similar arrangements expected in your own capital.
3-- The Blood King will extend his personal guarantee of your independence and territorial integrity against unprovoked aggression.
This are the extent of what we are willing to offer at this time, but the door remains open to further commitment. We await your reply.

We are honored, and accecpt your offer.

We are not interested in diplomatic contact with you.
We do not waste our time negotiating with unstable, reactionary powers.
Stay away from our space.
Greetings.

A small and boxy shuttle descended into the mountains, sweeping low over their tops and then circling around the agreed upon landing zone before setting down. As the ramp slid open, a pair of Anubites marched down, energy lances cradled in their arms, eyes scanning every detail. A few moments later, a R'hlloran clambered down the ramp, ill-used to the planet's high gravity. "Greetings" he said through his electronic voice filter. The R'hlloran flicked an annoyed appendage at the 2 Anbuites, who went back inside the ship. "Now, lets get down to business."
"Yes let's. Here's what we are willing to do. We each agree to come to the other's aid if we are attacked, offensive actions are not covered by this. We agree to a small joint military command force which will control all joint decisisons in times of hostility. You will come to our aid if any of our allies are attacked, and we will do the same with you. All secret treaties are to come to the fore now, or else this treaty will be null and void, also we will be in the complete control of all ground forces if the alliance is called apon to fight an aggressor party. Do you have any objections?"

His guards were positioned.. He had to maintain his image of paranoia that was so typical of him. he was secure. Even if his magic did somehow leave him due to some sort of ant-magic field, his most powerful spells, the ones that could utterly destroy anything threatening him, would still be effective.
Not only that, but his apprentice Dalamar had him covered. If he was attacked, his attackers lives would be snuffed out before they could take their next breath.

The Prince smiled at Raistlin.
"If you have any questions about how to eat the food, just ask me. To serious matters though, our nations seem to be saying we don't want to have a rift, or conflict between us, meanwhile your nation seems to be putting of this aura of hostility. Is there any particular reason why?"

Binat waited. It was what he was best at- the patience for finding the perfect shot- and he didn't have it, yet. He watched Michi closely- he could see her through the front window of the restaurant. Her hands were crossed under her chin- A simple signal. Not Yet. He gently cradled the matte weapon, hiding quietly. The Harper agents were out in greater numbers than he expected, and he had to assume some of them were disguised, or even invisible- word from Ix'agal had pointed to their strange abilities.
So, he waited. It was not often a man had a chance to slay a legend.

"we honestly dont mean to. Our intentions behind the water purification system were to reveal the plan to you as a gift. WHen your government found out it was not even in the design stages, still conceptual. We wanted to tell you once the blueprints were drawn up."
Raistlin took a bite of food, swallowed and then finished
"You must understand, we love the people of earth. And we love the people of Ix'Agal as well. WHich is wy we are staying to rebuild their country and instil some form of democracy. But we cant do that without the use of force to protect our troops. And I think that is the reason others are so angry.
As to the Goa'Uld... We simply cannot abide by a parasite that takes the freedom of choice permenantly fom a sentient creature. Not only that, but they did so to our people. We had to act or they would continue to victimize people.
As to the late ambassador... well he did something very stupid something not condoned by our government. He paid the price for his foolishness, and it is tragic."

Veithan Empire Space
Veitha III, Capitol
The Director nodded as the points were responded to, pleased that things were going so well. Trade was being established, a certain boon to both Ravenlock and Veithan economies, and one that would grow as time went on. The request on the second point, that of tourism, was noted with a nod. ~Of course. We can arrange a private security summit to discuss methods and technologies used by our own customs and security forces. We can either hold it in our space or yours, though I imagine the best solution would be for the initial summit to be held in Ravenlock space, so your people can best experience how our security works, make any equipment orders they may require, followed by training teams and equipment shipments back to Veithan space at the end of the summit.~
A smile crossed the Director’s lips as the offer for detailed starmaps was met. ~Thank you. I don’t suppose we will find much, but we have to keep trying.~
~Now then, on to some other matters. As your people told us at our first contact, the galaxy is not a very safe place right now. Aside from the obvious threat, the so-called Siliconoids, there are other powers at work that are of a serious concern. Nations without allies could easily find themselves without protection from powers combined in a coalition, and some of the powers in existence right now seem very, shall we say, unpredictable. I would like to propose a mutual-defense treaty between our governments, in the interest of keeping ourselves safeguarded from the aggression of other powers.~

Sol System
The first component of the Baeloaren convoy poured into realspace at the edge of the system, hundreds of small and medium sized ships, and their escorts. Some constructors wielded powerful energy drills, others had terrain modification tractor beams, plenty were just cargo transports, and many carried workers, who would be dealing with most of the actual construction.
<< This is the Baeloaren Curiser Harad's Folly, I've got a constructor fleet here with instructions to prepare your homeworld for a half dozen archologies; please transmit approach co ordinances.>>
These ships were only the beginning, within a week or so the remainder of the Constructor Fleet would arrive. In toe where the six archologies donated by the Baeloarens to help earth, it was an impressive number of ships, and the ability to keep so many miles of pre-fabricated buildings at FTL speeds safe was a miracle unto itself. Once the ships arrived it would only be a matter of days before the buildings would be fully assembled, the worker force allotted for this operation was excessive, but workers were cheap, it wasn’t a problem. The Senate had even ordered a number of workers to be stationed on earth under the archologies to help the earthlings to rebuild their industry, or whatever else they needed, there was always a surplus of workers, and they could be spared. The structures would hold virtually all of earth's citizens once installed, allowing them to go about their lives unaffected by the tumult beyond the archology walls.

"This is our formal deal:
We agree to a military alliance, you come to our aid in times of war, we come to your aid in times of war.
During times of conflict we get complete control over your armed forces (renegotiatable in six months game time) and your financial controls (ditto) in return, when we are able to make investments in your little nation, we will. Also, we will allow you access to Krynor tech to be reversed engineered by you under our supervision, if iti is understood that we will be selling tech to other nations, and any information found privatley by our labs does not need to be shared with you.
