I reccomend that anyone who can watch the BBC coverage online or on TV, should do so. It is excellent in all respects, although I fear their engineering staff may be updating resumes when it's all said and done.

Holy shit. CNN ran the simulation where McCain might win - and with nothing but "for the sake of argument" red wins, he'd struggle to get to 266. CNN has just unofficially called the election for Obama.

The BBC coverage is a lot more substantial than CNN's, but it's nearly 4AM and the snazzy graphs are a lot easier to digest right now than talking heads.

If they can't call the election, they should be unable to call Ohio and Pennsylvania, because calling both of those for Obama essentially calls the election by default. As it is now they're just dancing around the facts.

They can't call the election as yet because not enough states to make up the crucial 270 EV number have reported in as yet. Lets see, N. Mexico is 5, and Louisiana is 19, right? So even the more cautious CNN tallies have it at 199/88.
