This iis what happens when you give me higher level spells to work with. I become clean, efficient, deadly.

But you are a jack of both trades. You loose spells for a small amount of combat ability.

Come on. It's two people who intended to do it from the beginning. One who uses it as a side-factor, and one who has control over it that is mind-blowing.

When/if we get a stronghold, I'll use it to recruit our loyal cadre of alchemists/researchers/smiths. Sure, warriors can soak damage, but these guys can make us ice cream!

Amazing how no one notices the helm of alignment change.
