BZZT, wrong. My vampires have various natural feats (TK, for one, which was
amply demonstrated) which were specifically stated to be non-magical; rather, these abilities are manifested by sheer force of will. In other words, they are psionics.
In D&D, Psionics is the art of modifying reality by force of will and thus achieving supernatural effects. It is separate from magic and seems to be pretty much what your character does. It isn't exactly unknown in the D&D universe (a complete handbook for psionics is available), or the STGOD either. As I said, the vampires do it casually and constantly, and one of Alyrium's main characters was a psionicist.

Sorry... I forgot about the vampires... does Hotfoot's sensors work as far as detecting the use of your vampire's abilities?

I'll have to check it with Hotfoot, but even if psionics were missed the Vampire itself would light up the sensors because it's a magical being in and of itself. The same isn't true of Oni. Also, I think it should be possible for a psionic or magic-using character to have a stealth ability--that is, they would through conscious effort or spellcasting cloak themselves to mages using detection spells or Hotfoot's sensors.

Read the Veithan OOB and be enlightened. There are other, more subtle mentions of it elsewhere.

Quantek is an outgrowth of combined research into things which do not ordinarily fit into the laws of physics, which include what some would call magic and psionics. It's not perfect by any means, and if you want your assassin to be capable of shielding himself from detection on the psionic level as Pablo suggested, by all means, please do. I have a similar ability worked into the Quantek Combat suits that are soon seeing service with SENTINEL.

Unless you really want to claim Elanie is a Mary Sue, don't consider her impossible to kill. She may be damn hard to kill, but not impossible.
No one's impossible to kill. I'll point out I've assassinated a major political figure or two in my time. I'm just saying that anything short of extreme cleverness, a one-man attack on the Fortress in Eketrina aimed at killing the Speaker or Elanie will end with one dead Oni.

I'll be sporadic or nonexistent access this week. Thank God for that hiatus that maybe isn't really happening. Whatever.

Wow, spend a weekend playing World of Warcraft and sleeping and I miss the biggest "argument" all summer. Ah well! Now that I have my mount I think i'll be able to spend some time here. Guess that hiatus isn't exactly going as planned, heh.

Very well, if there are no objections I wouldn't mind reclaiming the minmatar.

Go to the bottom of the Information Link thread for a fairly up-to-date history of the STGOD, the OOB thread, the stroy thread, and the dramatis personae, and the map. Minmatar is already there.

No objections as such, but we had previously been playing them as being a bit down on their luck.

I think everything that was from the original STGOD is a bit down on their luck. Oh, and I have no objects to the Minmatar being reclaimed.

Ahh, good. Means I can make them more interesting. I prefer interesting nations over powerful ones.

Thanks to Thirdfain's valiant efforts while my data transfer continues (and my map and image software is caught up in the mix), there is a new update, complete with political thingies.
Enjoy!

I've added political boundaries to the STGOD map. Unification nations are red, Alliance nations are blue, Accord nations are teal, and all inon-aligned nations have their own colors. Regions connected by lines are under under one empire (I.e, Monacora's Earth-centric territories are connected to Jardan, Krynor, and Rh'lorr.)

Um... The Lying Darkness can be removed as a functional power, for among other reasons, they went on another century long tour of the galaxy. People might get slightly confused otherwise...

Fair enough, but at the moment, I'm afraid that's up to Thirdfain. I've yet to reinstall the relevant software, though I will attempt to do so tonight if possible.

Ummm, at this point the political boundries with the PIR would be more or less continous. We were close neighbors with the PIR and between them the two had grabbed up most of the worthwhile powers between then.
And the powers between my nation and your Jormungandar sphere would be touching as well.
Oh and you'll have to talk to Darksider to be sure but I think he's joined the Unifcation.

Oops, missed the Vampire holdings in the Arcane Empire, and the Draconis joining the UPA officially.
Would all the Alliances please tell me their official names?

The one you've labeled the Unification is pretty much a patchwork of mutally allied nations. So I think we don't have a proper name.

The Alliance is just the Alliance. Not very imaginative I grant you, but we were the first major grouping so it seemed enough at the time.

I think the KSE is part of the 'Unification' isn't it?

About a month ago Darksider and the Asgard were sealing a mutual defense alliance, haven't checked again but I assumed it went through.
