I noticed that he also talked about Obi-Wan and Yoda recallibrating Order 66 to keep the Jedi away from Coruscant, when in reality it was something like General Signal 19 or such. He got that mixed up.

Another thing.

Considering how much he keeps repeating that the little nitpick/annoying things are no big deal, he sure seems to make a big deal out of them by bringing them up over and over again. I know that it's not all his fault, because people keep asking him about them, but you'd think if he had any sense he'd just stop talking about it.

Overall, I just didn´t get that totally positive vibe, even though he insisted it was good. Oh well, at least I got to know something´s that might bother some people.

And Anakin´s reason for turning is a bit more complicated than he seemed to think (and others with him). It´s not all because of Padme. I´d say it´s a combination of misguided idealism and lust for power. Padme is just the part getting the most focus in this film.

Obviously. And Obi-Wan vs Anakin, for obvious reasons. It even has the bit where Vader is throwing things at Luke from TESB.

It might be a leap in logic, but I think the soundtrack title 'Anakin vs Obi-wan' might give you some clue.

I don't trust the titles from the Soundtrack CDs ever since the music from "Qui-Gon's Noble End" Ended up being used for the escape from Naboo.

It wouldn't be the first time they've used music from the soundtrack "out of place."

Plus, you could call it a fool's hope...

I mean, come on. Doesn't Battle of the Heroes sound so much cooler?
I can almost picture Anakin and Obi-Wan fighting when I listen to it.

They're the same bloody song, or similar enough to sound the same.

Well, It is supposed to be a ten minute long duel scene.

Mabye they'll use both?

I can't imagine them not using a track called "Battle of the Heroes" In anything other than a fight scene...

Well not too long now. We will soon see the film in all it's hyped up glory. *fingers crossed that it won't suck*

True enough.

Some of the reviews over at MF.com worry me a little.

But most of the reviews are positive.

:::::Joins Stofsk in crossing fingers:::::

EDIT: Screw what I said about Rottentomatoes.com. Right now EpIII has a 100%

Not sure if anyone's posted it, but there is footage from the game available from the usual sources (MF.com), in small discreet packages, as well as the full package (350 MB) on torrent.

Not that I would ever to anything illegal, but the torrent has (using my clairvoyaunt skills) greater than 10 and less than 30 seeds at the moment ...

A stupid question but who and what was Bai Ling's character (it was cut from EP3(because she posed for Playboy acording to her))

There´s something I´ve been itching to say, but haven´t been quite sure about until now. It seems some of the critics have noticed a rather huge revelation in the film, and are guessing that most viewers won´t get it on their first showing. Basically, Palpatine implies that

Spoiler

he´s Anakin´s father (since he learnt how to manipulate midichlorians to create life, from his master, Plagueis). This not only changes the entire viewpoint of the Skywalker family and it´s conflicts, but also makes for some twisted relations in ROTJ, with the "family patriarch" rallying his son and grandson to beat the living shit out of each other, while he sits and gloats and gets to choose the strongest to be his successor. FUBAR. :P

[END SPOILER]

A stupid question but who and what was Bai Ling's character (it was cut from EP3(because she posed for Playboy acording to her))
She was a senator. I don´t believe she would be cut for that reason, probably just a publicity stunt on her part (she did attend SW conventions even after the cut. Why allow that if they didn´t want her there?)

I thought we already dealt with that "I need your help son" quote from the trailer.

He's just being a kindly old man, so he can set Anakin up to kill the Jedi for him.

Unless there's more in the film?

Also, I don't think you need a spoiler warning in the Episode III spoiler thread

I don't buy the 'palpatine' is the grandfather line of thought; why abandon Anakin to fate to be trained by the Jedi? Why bother with Darth Maul? Why not just train your son from the get-go?

Agreed.

It's stupid and unworkable..

If that actually get's put into the film..... Even lucas at his worst couldn't possibly that dumb.

That's Bastard&Brainless level stupidity....

Yes. It was actually one of the negatives pointed out by reviewers at CHUD. They thought it was blatantly clear, and a rehash of Vader being Luke´s dad/Leia being Luke´s sister.

Easy. To let him see the flaws of the Jedi up-close. Maul (if he had survived) would have been like Anakin´s final test before assuming his place as Palps´ right hand.

Either way, with this info it seems he was planning to "accidently" discover Anakin, get him into the order, and have things come around to his plans, no matter what. Qui-Gon just made the discovery for him.

Yeah Lucas doesn't seem that kind of a man, anyway one Lucas' daughters was in that scene and I don't think he would cut such a scene for reason that one several actors (who's isn't even in a critical role) did something that he didn't aprove.

A bunch of semi-reviews from various CHUD staff, interspersed with discussion. They mention it here and there:

Fine by me, go to the CHUD boards and complain. (Just remember to wear a flame-retardent suit. ;))

I really don´t care if it´s implied in any strong fashion or not, the implications of any familiar bond between the main villain and the heroes is good in my view. It adds to Palpatine´s character and changes the nature of the conflict slightly. It´s not needed, but I won´t denounce it either.

Sorry man, but we're getting into 'Dr Evil' mode here with Sharks with freakin' laser beams attached to their heads.

After birth a quick midiC check would have told him all that he needed to know (if Anakin is his creation), everything else is just ... warped.

Yes, which will lead into the age of space stations with planet-shattering superlasers that travel faster than light!!! :P

I may have wrote it abit poorly. It seems Palps went to the Outer Rim, found a suiting woman, performed some ancient Sith magic, and possibly used his power of foresight to see where a Jedi like Qui-Gon would land to find this "wünderkid". Then it´s a case of subtly guiding the boy, feeding his mistrust of the faulty Jedi Order, let it stir for some years, and get his unstoppable killing machine that helps him get rid of the pesky Jedi and inherit his throne.

There is a difference between an overly elaborate plan whereby twenty million things could go wrong (despite the redundancy of lasers on sharks), and the simplicity of blowing up a planet that could otherwise ward off a conventional attack.

No you didn't write it poorly. And oh look, we just past Dr Evil stage ... it is really, really bad. Really. Seriously. Bad. Just ... wrong. :)
