Guys... maybe this isn't the right place to discuss the finer points of modern encryption?

Also, for fluff reasons, I should describe the differences between my original description of the Gliesans, and what they look like now.

Now, when they speak in person, there's a sort of "reverse echo" with their speech if they aren't paying attention to it. Being used to telepathy among their own people now, when distracted, they tend to send the thought of what they're about to say a split-second before they begin to speak. The Archons, being more experienced in diplomacy, are much better at not causing alarm by doing this, and so will do this only under duress.

As for physical appearance, they still appear as taller and more slender humans, in proportion to size - not waif-thin, but slender as a general rule. Their skin tone now is more subtly warmly tan to golden in color, but not in sheen. Before, their eye colors varied, but were all solid colors - now, all Gliesans have grey eyes. In addition, all have what appear to be continuous tattoos along their bodies. Due to the clothes most Archons and their aides wear, the only ones visible will be a small golden circle on their foreheads, with a golden line leading back into their hairline, matched by similar circles on their temples and throat, all with thin lines leading back toward the spine.

They have learned to tinker with the universe itself, and so the universe has left its mark upon them.

Sorry for the delay, fixing some wireless problems. I'll get a reply to you in an hour or so, Rhoenix.

Sounds good. I'm still awaiting replies from Covenant, White Haven, someone from the NGTO in their space, and someone from the Sol system who notices a Gliesan scout group sitting right beyond the orbit of Pluto.

So, you're not the only one lagging. At least you said why. ;)

I'm going to wait before responding, because your scout will be arriving over Earth some time after the violence in Poland is over.

Oh no, this is the Sol System we're discussing. My scout group isn't entering the system without advance notice from at least one Sol system-based nation that all is well.

That's silly; Sol is without a doubt the busiest hub of commerce in Known Space. Millions of ships move in and out daily; you'd be foolish to sit around waiting at the edge of the thing waiting for an official response.

Though in the interests of chronological coherence, I'm trying to slow down other threads of the game, since the League attack has amazingly slowed to a halt...

After observing all those fireworks? Oh no, better safe than an example. ;)

Attention White Haven, you are hereby requested to post in a timely fashion in regards to the current battle you are involved in. Please do so within 48 hours or contact me in some way to explain what is going on. If you do not respond in the given time frame, control of your forces will be given to a mod and the battle will commence without you.

This notification will also be sent via PM

Hey all, I'm back. I've got internet access again, so I'm going to be reading through the game thread and will soon be back in the swing of things. I've got a couple PMs about stuff in my inbox, so if you sent one about this game I'll reply as soon as I know whats going on.

Has anyone been demolished yet?

In a word, ugh. I apologize to those I've been holding up, work's been....interesting, with both my bosses taking back-to-back vacations in a business that includes a sum total of four people.

Redleader, who exactly did two weeks pass over the course of a single one of your posts? When did Uche actually leave Earth?

Well, at least we know that the NGTO is going to find every fucking earth power kicking them in the balls for even attempting this.

Maybe my genocidal rampage will get some quick converts. Woo-hoo.

What's the "this" that the NGTO is attempting?

I guess I have missed more than I thought.

*chuckle*

I'm going to work toward the peaceful resolution, as long as it's possible.

EDIT: Also, since both my envoys to Sol and the NGTO are being ignored for being polite, I'm going to knock a bit more loudly.

White Haven, there's also my envoy sitting on the edge of your space hailing you. ;)

EDIT #2: Covenant - I added my doorbell for your space to my post as well.

"This" has been retconned away. Redleader and I had a small miscommunication, that's all.

Rheonix, your envoys aren't being ignored. The situation is being pushed back due to a discrepancy in timing- your ships will be arriving at Earth some time after the events in Poland have unfolded, so I'm waiting until said events have in fact unfolded before talking with you.

I've sent you a PM on the subject.

Since things seem to be getting very hairy, I believe we should be PMing and posting in this thread before we make any sudden moves that physically affect other players.

It will save most of the previous headaches/retcons that we have had, and make the events more clear to third party observers as to what is in game and out of game knowledge for them.

This is trivially avoidable too, but I'll PM it to you as I don't want to spam the thread. Howedar may be over the top when he does his 'I am an engineer and you are not so STFU', but seriously, there's no point rattling off a list of 'I thought about it for 30 seconds and came up with this idea/objection!' and expecting it to stand up to even a semi-serious real design effort.

I will edit my NGTO post to correct reffering to the wrong angel character.

Rawtooth PMed me to say that he is no longer in the game.

After all the incidents earlier involing traffic control, probably not.
I'm trying to slow down other threads of the game, since the League attack has amazingly slowed to a halt...
I can't actually be here every night, although I get online most nights despite a high workload ATM. Interesting choice by White Haven, I think I can rationalise it, I will do that next.
Never mind. Let em come, we'll burn your shit out of the stars regardless.
You've made one important mistake so far; you didn't bother to simulate the presence of Beowulf's fleet. If you did, you could've said 'The FEA ran away' and the two incoming fleets would be none the wiser. I don't think it's enough to give them any real chance of escape, but we'll see.
Noble Ire wrote:Redleader, who exactly did two weeks pass over the course of a single one of your posts? When did Uche actually leave Earth?
I motion to punt Redleader's arrival at Jahlin colony two weeks into the future. Players at the conference can ignore him until then.

Crossroads really needs to acknowledge Rhoenix and send him in (in the NGTO negotiation thread) though.
Dark Hellion wrote:Well, at least we know that the NGTO is going to find every fucking earth power kicking them in the balls for even attempting this.
The TGA did that on their own, without the knowledge or approval of any of the NGTO nations. Had it not been retconned /and/ it had been traced to him, we might've had to kick him out of the alliance, depending on how much economic damage was done and whether he had any plausible justification for his actions.
Rhoenix wrote:What's the "this" that the NGTO is attempting?
Allthough our misguided but enthusiastic marketing staff may give the impression that the NGTO has a monopoly on transgalactic schemeing and plotting, this is not in fact the case.

EDIT: Did any space monster ships escape the earth battle? My notes say Nephtys tried to retreat, but I'm not clear if any made it. It would also be nice to have the space monster forces and losses (in OOB/points terms) for that battle for the battles log.
