Just watched the McCoy in a tin can scene and I freakin' love Urban's treatment of the accent.

They posted some Enterprise model shots, at least of physical models based on the movie 'prise, so we finally get some really nice clear views. http://www.startrekmovie.com/modelgallery/
my thoughts:
dag those nacelles are big, and almost look droopy.
looking at the funny-painted models, it seems the stock one was just assembled a bit poorly. UPS-prise has no droop.
obvious TNG-ish mosaic on the body panels, nicely done with variations in gloss as much as subtle color.
lots of familiar elements, phaser-emitter dots instead of the pop-up turrets on George Kirk's USS Kelvin, prominent grid-lines on the saucer, conventional-looking impulse engines and torpedo room. Thematically it really is a cross between TOS E and ST:TMP E

There are more new 'dossiers' up on startrekmovie.com, one of which includes this starbase image, which also has a few new ship designs floating about it;

I see a really bad game made around those designs in our future. It's interesting that there's at least four of the rollbar + engine on a stick configurations, though.

Pity they couldn't adapt all of Franz Joseph's stuff though. I'm sure I'm not alone in wishing it was canon.

Is it just me, or does "Enterprise 21" look like the result of the Federation being tainted by Chaos?

That thing looks like a cross between the earth station from TMP and a Terror Star from GalCiv 2.

Yeah, it's not too far removed Deforest Kelly, but it's unique enough to stand in it's own.
Again, getting more cautiously optimistic about this.

It is canon. The designs appeared on the bridge monitors in the TOS movies. the only one not seen is the Dreadnought but that got a nod in TMP's dialogue.
The starbase looks very nice. Looks like there's a Kelvin variant with two nacelles over the saucer, a smaller one with underslung nacelles, the Akira-ish rollbar ship top-left (are those four nacelles?), some smaller craft (the right-most ship on the bottom left pod looks almost like an Oberth or an Olympic), and a whatever the hell the Enterprise is top-right. Neat. Looks like they're fleshing out the fleet à la FC.

LOL at the Enterprise Models. 16 looks like it's a Raverprise, and Jim Lee's 23 is totally done in a low-rider style. Airbrushed chick and everything!

For those interested in the soundtrack, Colosseum.de has a product page with four samples. The last one in particular is worth listening to - Spoiler
Alexander Courage' Theme from Star Trek, in a new orchestral version, for the end credits

Why did you put that in spoiler tags, Bounty?
I mean... it's not really a spoiler is it?

I really don't see that as a spoiler either.
That's pretty cool though. The later movies pretty much just used the cues from the "Space...the Final Frontier" segment, ignoring the rest.

Well, I thought it might be one of those "nice surprise" thingies. I'm sorry I made you click one extra button
I guess now we know what year the movie takes place.

Lord, I want to take the smiley face one, put a red splatter of paint at the 11:35 position on it and replace the Betty Page image with Sally Jupiter.
That would be freakin' sweet.

IESB has more clips, some new, some extended from previous released material. HUGE, HUGE SPOILERS. Clip 5 is pure eye candy: Spoiler
Pike taking off in a shuttle from the Enterprise' launch bay. The cockpit looks like it took more than a few cues from the Galileo.

I still don't get the reason why does so many rabid trekkies has a problem with this story being an alternate timeline. They keep on whining about this movie not respecting canon even before they even see the movie.
