{Asgard Space}
All over Asgard territory things changed. With out any overt word fleets moved to a higher readiness and the yards hustled a little faster.
The small escorts began slipping their moorings, each behemoth sliding gracefully into the eternal night of interstellar space. Yet those were dwarfed by the sheer size of the capital ships that were being rushed to completion.
Things had changed.

OU Space
In OU shipyards, ships that were near completion were rushed to be finished, while those that would take a long time were put temporarily on hold. On the planetary holdings, new underwater weapons emplacements were installed. Ships in dock for refitting were completed, putting almost the entire strength of the space navy into combat readiness.

Our intel has discovered that the NBA has increased production of war ships. We suggest that the rest of you bring your fleet to full combat readiness.
We have additions to our fleet, and have refitted our ships to be able to get through Asgard defenses. We are bringing our defense grid online. I suggest you do the same. The Asgard have over 900 ships at their disposal...

Our shipyards are working at top pace, however we are about to incorperate 3 more garrison regiments into our Expanding forces. If you need help you know where we are.

All throughout the KSE, shipyard workers pulled double and triple shfts, in order to meet the vast production needs of the rapidly expanding military, the draft was renstated and new surface anti orbital weapons were rushed into place.
(OOC: I'm fast-tracking the ships so, if there are no objections, i'll add them to my OOB as in service vessels and move on to the next stage of production.)

I have updated my fleet. It is still smaller than the asgrd...but my Global Defense grid should make up the difference if they attack.

It had been months since Bondman DeVries had last heard from his handler. His position, gained during the chaos following the collapse of the Kokand Empire, allowed him only limited freedom even in the shipyard he was working in.
He had learned about the dissapearance of his brothers and sisters on Zarathrustra, the leavetaking of his people from their home, the dissapearance of his handler, the end of his mission. He had learned of the cause for the action-the war he had covertly taken part in.
Bondman DeVries, working here as an engineer, under a different name, was frightened. He had spent the last month knowing, in the back of his head, that the Mohaimese didn't know about his existence. It was unlikely that if they had known, they would have moved to rescue him- after all, such an overt action would be cause for war.
Bondman DeVries reached his decision. He would carry out his original instructions- listen, wait, make friends, blend in, become one with your position, and, when the order arrives- STRIKE.
Bondman DeVries finished his diagnostic of the huge shipyard's slip water purification system. As he levered the valve closed, he squeezed the pale liquid into the system's diagnostic intake. The poison represented the pinacle of Floater genemodification- a version of Curare, lethal in very small amounts, and totally undetectable by anything short of molecular investigation.
Bondman DeVries strode away boldly, waving at one of his friends as he headed to the next stop on his rounds. His only regret was that the poison was unlikely to spread to more then a small area of the station, and that the suicide device he would be using in the next few seconds would act so quickly.

{Vahalla Naval Yards}
The Floater attack had been effective but relatively contained. The scale of the shipyards had denied them more than they would have hoped. Their agent had dumped the poison into a water system; it had mostly gone to grey water applications mostly. Still 35 people were dead and more than a hundred were sick and still in critical care.
But work went on. Even that tragedy had not stopped the leviathan.

All over the station Marines hunted. Power armored they searched out their pray. Floater agents.
Most of them had been tagged and identified as they came in. Few knew the basic security precautions included a few tissue samples. But more had been found in the Cold War. Security had tracked them, monitored them and in some cases manipulated. Now they would exterminate them.
Battle armored Marines smashed in the door of an low-level engineers office, flechette launchers at the ready. The prisoner was dragged out and to the nearest airlock. With ruthless precision the marines fired a shot tearing the agent to bloody ribbons before hurtling him out the locks.
All over this action was repeated until the whole of the shipyards were purged.

"It seems things have begun your majesty. There will be no stopping things this time I'm afraid."
The aged Emperor looked rather sad, this was greivous but not unexpected news.

{Kharam - The Womb}
The Asgard Marines and techincal personel had already left. It had been hidden discreetly, the personel had simply been vac suited and hidden in the sheilded cargo bays of the military transports. Already they had translated into hyper. Only a lonely comsat was left behind.
Now the countdown had begun. At all the structural point and reactors massive thermonuclear bombs waited the final signal.
It came and The Womb vanished in a massive fireball, obliterated forever.

to: Chosen Children of Jesu
from: Mohaimese Office of Diplomacy
SUBJ: Military Alliance
-dispatched via courier ship w/warship escorts, heavily coded-
The bondmen/freemen/lovebound of the United Floater Republics, and of our great Republic of Mohaim, have sensed a coming storm, a coming inferno, one which may sterilize known space.
We see battle lines being drawn, and we see rampant chaos- over a hundred die at the Asgard shipyards, half by disease, half by their government's own hand, some by a spy's suicide methods. War in Japan, and the build-up of mighty war-fleets.
We see, quite possibly, the end of Human civilization.
We offer you this, Children of Jesu: a chance to stand besides us in the coming storm, like two trees entwined against the flood, held together by a need for mutual survival.
In exchange for your assistance, we offer you this- the opportunity to ensure the survival of Christ's Word.
Whatever war comes, there is little doubt it will be apocolyptic. Worlds will fall, planets, burn. Death will be rampant, and who knows what will rise from the ashes, if anything?
Mankind, a mankind willing to accept the word of Christ, may not survive.
This is grim, of course, but there is another way. There is more of humanity- there are souls which will be unscarred by this great War.
Over the last two centuries, the Womb was turned to seed the galaxy with Human life- men and women, frozen in coldsleep, launched on great forays into the unknown, on massive Arks. These vessels, twenty-five in total, are beyond the reach of any Known Space powers. They are mankind's hope- if we fail here in Known Space, humanity will continue elsewhere.
We salvaged the secret destinations of these vessels- stars, picked out from the myriad, across the Galaxy. We will give you the destinations of these craft, so that you may know, after it has ended, where to take the Word so that it may find souls to save.
We offer you a place in the future of the species, in exchange for your support and assistance now.
Do you accept?

The Floater fleet over the Womb detected the lack of life-signs across the massive facility.
"Admiral, we are picking up life signs on the military transports."
"Why could they be evacuating? All ships, stand back from the Womb and order the Asgard to give an explanation for abonding the facility- and ask them what they are doing with out technical personelle!"

The tranports rendevoused with a the Empress Jessica battlefleet in hyperspace. The mightly fleet sped back towards home at several thousand times the speed of light.
Admiral Layton wondered what the bound and gagged Floater personell in the life pod would be found or die in the cold black void. The transmitter would have been fried by the blast. Still maybe they were lucky...
