Oh, and, thought transcripts? WTF? And didn't you just launch a lawsuit against VNN?

Perhaps I'm out of line here, but I don't think you can do that, Alyrium.Alyrium Denryle wrote:"Acheron... leak the mans thought transcripts to VNN"
We monitor our diplomats. We dont monitor the other guy, just ours. Think of it like a court reporter. He has a mental link with the diplomat, and transcribes his thoughts. Just in case we have a situation like this...Hotfoot wrote:So now you can monitor private council meetings with diviners?

Fair enough, gl hf.Alyrium Denryle wrote:We monitor our diplomats. We dont monitor the other guy, just ours. Think of it like a court reporter. He has a mental link with the diplomat, and transcribes his thoughts. Just in case we have a situation like this...
How would they demonize you? How do you know that VNN would even have any damning evidence to use against you unless (gasp) you listened in on the private council meeting of the Political Prince.Yes we sued VNN. However, we also know that if we dont get them those documents, they will immediatly turn around and demonize us some more. This way, they get both sides.

In order to know what happened in there you'd need to know where the conference was taking place, when it was taking place, all sorts of stuff. You can't pull a spy network like that out of your ass.
In any event, the ability to monitor the leader(s) of another nation remotely is too much. If you have an extensive spy network in place; fine, or if you have implanted some sort of monitoring device in their heads that they don’t know about (which is a huge ordeal). Hell, even if that was allowed, what do you think Monacoran officials would do if VNN broadcasted a “thought transcript” of a high ranking Monacoran official? They’d bug out, who else could do that? Hell, with the way the Vethians think of you, that might just backfire!
It is only smart procedure. Why would we keep that secret, the death of an ambassador woud get public eventually, and when that happens, news agencies dont like us very much. If they ignore our side, it is libel and we can sue.How would they demonize you? Heh, the irony of that statement is glorious.Alyrium Denryle wrote:It is only smart procedure. Why would we keep that secret,
I still chuckle to myself about your current lawsuit, but hey, you know what, go ahead. The fact of the matter is still that you were heavily inferring that you were watching in on the Political Prince's meeting with diviners, and that was the justification for you sending the transcripts to VNN instead of a friendly news agency like, say, GWN.the death of an ambassador woud get public eventually, and when that happens, news agencies dont like us very much. If they ignore our side, it is libel and we can sue.
I remember the last time I monitored a diplomatic conference without permission of the parties involved, you dragged Faran Tor through the Astral Plane and proceeded to berate me in front of every other nation in existance. Now Im getting a strange deja vu feeling here...Alyrium Denryle wrote:We monitor our diplomats. We dont monitor the other guy, just ours. Think of it like a court reporter. Not my point. He had a man lean against a crystal ball (HINT HINT DIVINER) just after Straha said to leak the security footage to VNN, saying to "leak" the thought transcript to VNN.InnocentBystander wrote:Acutally, I don't think he was. I have never seen anyone nitpick as much as you....Hotfoot wrote:Not my point. Coincidence?
You don't even seem to know the definition of the word, given the way you throw it around.Alyrium Denryle wrote:I have never seen anyone nitpick as much as you....
Which did not include anything concerning VNN or leaking anything. He sent a transmission regarding their position regarding the incedent to us.
Fine, hey, justify it like that. I really don't care that VNN gets a copy of the transcript. What bugged me was the way you seemed to instantly know the intentions of the Monacoran goverment and match their move exactly at the moment Straha posted. Since you have now clarified that you do not, in fact, have diviners capable of listening in on private meetings, I'm willing to let it go.Knowing this would reach the media and especially VNN we sent the thought transcript.
Whatever floats your boat mate.We will be sending it sepeatly to GWN once it begins being reported..
I have used it once... maybe twice... in this entire OOC thread. You don't even seem to know the definition of the word, given the way you throw it around.
You make the accusation, yet you do not support it with substance.Alyrium Denryle wrote:I have used it once... maybe twice... in this entire OOC thread. You don't even seem to know the definition of the word, given the way you throw it around.
Eh, make it a week and a half to Earth then(presuming Earth's at the approximate center), we're supposed to be far out, but not that far out. Wasn't quite sure of travel times and distances, thanks.Thirdfain wrote:consequences, Known Space is perhaps 2 week's travel from one edge to the other. If you were weeks and weeks away from Earth, you'd be way out of the way, further off than even my own homeworlds. If that's what you want, ok!
Just clarifying.
Listen, I already explained what I did with the other 2 powers: 1)Busy, and 2) Busy. Have you seen me posting with my old powers? No, you havent, so stop bitching at me. And those are 'battle cruisers', aka *cruisers*.Hotfoot wrote:Umm, Tycho, why are you posting with a new power? Your current power isn't omgwtf pwned, and now you've essentially got two full powers under your control, which is ridiculous.
Also, 80 battleships? Come on.
