HP's business line is rock-solid and I wouldn't hesitate to suggest them.
The last HP consumer desktop machine I looked at used a modified Asus A7N8X Socket A (the brand and model number were silkscreened on the board) motherboard.
Ones I looked at previous to that were older S370 models that had Trigem boards.

I have no idea where they source out their parts from now, though.
