The problem is off course two fold...
1.) The Jury's all think that the insurance companies will cover it all so no one suffers. (This is so wrong and I trust everyone's common sense here that I don't feel the need to explain why it's wrong, I was just pointing out that I know it's wrong so we don't get any misunderstandings)
2.) Those stupid no fee if you don't win Lawyers, because people feel there is no risk in taking stupid cases up, they do so, then when added to the above point, the cases get awarded. The Cases are awarded and the No win no Fee Lawyer's see they can get away with even stupidier cases, and so take them on. (The Lawyer's only taking on cases they think they have a chance of winning else they've wasted their time, but evidence mounts up that they can win any case...)
All this means that I fear that the Court cases will get stupidier in the US, and forgive me if I say I have no desire to see the Uk head down that Stupid fucking road. Road, which is why I oppose Punitive damages while No win No fee Lawyer's exist.
This Year's Stella Award Candidates, who should win?

I'd like to see the actual court case file for these cases. I think most, if not all of them are probably urban legends. If these cases are actually real, then I would be willing to bet that a jury tampering investigation instantly got started after the verdict came down. No way would these cases continue to float without eyebrows being raised.
