Much smaller than SupCom. Maps are smaller compared to the size of units, and you can't zoom out as far. So of course the battles will involve fewer units. You don't have the units dying extremely rapidly though.

And (though I haven't had a chance to play yet) the Brotherhood isnt a very tank-oriented group.

Looks positively delightful and has fully turned my previous scepticism on its head. If this is truly fuelled by the soul of Westwood and not just an EA cash-in (Generals was a trend breaker, I admit), then I'm buying. It just seems odd having those actors in the cutscenes with my already preconceived character traits (you have Lieutenant Rasczak, Lando Carlrissian, Boomer and Sawyer acting along with I-refuse-to-fucking-die Kane). I also get a Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within vibe with the tiberium covered world devoid of life.

And what the hell did they do to the ion cannon? We complain that it's always been piss poor since the original game's FMVs, and now it's set to "Would you like to trim that continent, sir?" levels of power? Sons of Dis, but the Brotherhood are in for a world of hurt.

Then there's those aliens. Makes me wonder whether tiberium is analogous to the Red Weed of TWOTW used by the Martians for their equivalent of terraforming.

Must get the demo...

Damnit, about ten hours of downloading (thanks for the advise, Vympel, but I'd already left SDN for the night when you posted), and the damn thing doesn't work. Every time I try and boot it up, it tells me I don't have an updated version of DirectX installed, which is crap. There's a fix on the game's forum, but it doesn't work. :(

Ah, yes, I recall that quote. It may well be the case then, because this crystal coming down to Earth decades prior to the Scrin appearing is not a coincidence.

*Reaches for ion cannon controls*
Peace through power you say :) ?

And of if that doesn't convince you to help GDI win, consider this: who will Kane rise up against next time if he's in charge ;) ?

The alien bozos who think taking on Terra with Kane still alive is a good idea?

I meant when you lead NOD to victory under Kane in C&C3 - so the aliens probably won't be a great problem ;) .

Seeing as how Kane may or may not actually be working for them, or at least using them to further his own goals, that probably won't be a problem.

Though, I'd love to see Kane WTFPWN the aliens just after helping them succeed in their plans. Ah, Hell. I'd just love to see Kane WTFPWN everything since he is made of awesome and win.

I hope they address and explain why Kane lacks those goofy cybernetic implants he had in C&C2.

I thought that was just to cover up the damage sustained in C&C1? Of course then we get that GDI fellow making a mess of his insides, but considering what you see at the end of the Tiberium Sun: Firestorm cinematics, could this be a "different" Kane?

Did they ever explain why and how Kane keeps cheating death?

He teleported out of the Nod Temple in the First C&C 1.

And at the end of Firestorm (Tiberian Sun's sequel) he was somehow apparently in cahoots with CABAL.
Turns out that a five way cross over between It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, the Ali G Show, Fargo, Idiocracy and Veep is a lot less funny when you're actually living in it.

I haven't heard anything that says precisely how he does it, but see the TS:F cinematics.

Ah, well that explains it, since I never played TS:F.

EDIT:

Just checked Youtube- he's still got those implants in the vats.

That wasn't it; some of the people in those tubes were women, after all. He just merged with CABAL or some weird shit.

I think it was stricken from the canon, anyways.

I stand corrected - forgot about the women but now you mention it I do recall his face flickering / merging with CABAL's.

Didn't know they did much in the way of retconning canon etc though. Still, it's probably the best bet for having him return (then download his mind or something from CABAL). Also helps explain why he never looks a day older despite how many years between the games (in-universe I mean :P )?
