Possibly, though generally speaking sticking it up the ass was considered demeaning to the catcher. And the "thighs lubed-up" thing was done while the two men faced each other, you see they both lubed their thighs. I think it was so that the act would be between equals, rather than having a "top" and "bottom". Maybe if the couple was really homosexual rather than just practising homosexual sex.
