Am I the only one who basically stayed with GW basic and enjoyed that well enough?

Yeah, those silly addons didn't add anything! Not hundreds of skills, not four new classes, not entire SP campaigns, no way. What a waste of time, original is fine by itself!
Aside from the monotony of the desert, Nightfall is much better than Prophecies. I don't give an ass about the lameo story - it flows better, like Factions the levelling is faster and you get to the meat faster, and the changes to armour (divorcing appearance from role) is good. Grinding through all the generic RPG settings, levelling really slowly, and being expected to pay attention to the derivative story doesn't impress. Prophecies missions were also absurdly easy until right near the end.

I don't give a rats ass about the lameo story either.
But if I'm going to buy a Guild Wars 2, and with it a brand new computer (I'm running at 10 fps in GW now lol) I'm going to want more than just another expansion with more skills. I'm hoping they improve all things, story included.
Anybody try hero battle in PvP. Or more like it, try hero battle as a monk and win more than half. The shit's insane, some people have incredible hero builds. That's what Nightfall adds.

It was my understanding that there is another GW addon coming ( with monuments etc), THEN a separate 'GW2' in the more distant future, with all this 'more levels that do nothing' stuff in it?
I totally forgot the customisable, configurable, controllable henchies. Heroes are really useful in both PvE and PvP.

Right, the expansion GWEN is supposed to come out near the end of the year, and won't be a game by itself like the others. It will require on of the previous games. GW2 is the entirely new game coming out in a year or two.

Hey my bad, so we're only talking about the expansion here?
Heroes are really good for smaller guilds that don't always have 8 people on for GvG. Heroes are at least as good as the average RA player.
Anybody have UAX (full unlock) yet? I'm wondering exactly how much Balthazar faction it takes for it, and right now I'm hovering around 500k, I heard something like two or three million.

Personally I think they need to add a bigger time distance for each game. the first guild wars came out April 2005 and by the end of 07 we will have 4 games the only major difference is that this is the only real expansion.
I know it seems like I am complaining about a good thing but it really does get to me, but after playing nightfall I'd welcome a new guild wars tomorrow
RURIK LIVES (just kidding)

It doesn't really compare to
this idea which pops up every few months. Instead of ANET simply removing the gold limit, they instead suggest introducing an item with a fixed value to get around the limit.

No thanks, I've already got a Wallow and I should be able to get an Asura next month. The Asura is likely to be the second most common mini, with the warthog as the first, so selling them will take a lot of effort.
