I played D2 when it first came out, but I'm waiting for v1.10 before I'll decide if I want to start playing again. After you've played with every build and have all the best uniques it begins to get boring. One endless cow run after another

The endless cowruns(bloodruns) is exactly the problem D2 has now.
The imbalance between the classes is also pretty bad in 1.09.

Not to mention that the system for items basically encourage everyone to wank off like mad for Exceptional Uniques. It was almost worse before the expansion, with chatrooms filled with nothing but "I NEED Wormskul!!", "I'll trade 20 Perfect Gems for Silks of the VICTOR!!", "6 rare itmes for an SoJ!!" and on and on.

At least back then you could quiet some down with "There are Exceptional rares out there that are better than normal Uniques." But now that's all pretty much taken up by a dozen or so Exceptional Uniques now. Shit, they've even perfected desiging guides to making character sub-classes built around particular Unique weapons and armor! Talk about a power-gaming wankfest.

We're still building up chars. We're not the uber-powerful kind of players. We play the game because it's addictively fun. I don't do cow runs. I think that's just fucking stupid and boring.

Building up a sorc to get through into hardcore mode.

I'm not much of a hardcore player. I haven't played it in quite a while, and I'd need to delete some half-life to fit it on my computer. I played it for a while, but it gets old FUCING quick. Plus I never gotten good eq. The best unique I ever got was the unique buckler.

Argh. I finnally solved my MF and gold problems with my 74 barb by equipping an etheral Ali Baba on him, forgetting to try the personalize trick (it used to make etheral items non-etheral at one point).

I was finally getting some uni drops from NM Meph consistantly, along with one or two decent rares......and then I realized I hadn't personalized it yet. So i did. And it stayed Etheral. Of course. Just when I find a solution to my troubles, I get fucked.

I guess Blizz found that bug and corrected it since the last time I'd tried it?

well... if you really need an Ali-baba, I can give you one of mine. I have two, so no real biggie.

it just occured to me... i can't transfer from west to east. all my stuff is on US West, not east... oh well...

Argh. This games must really hate me. Everytime I get someone willing to trade low for an Ali, and I go to find a mule, I get a realm down. Then I stopped trying, and started to play. I left a run, to do another.....Realm Down.

I've lost count of how many times I've restarted my computer today/tonight. And now that didn't even work.

When I usually trade, it's morons who don't know what an even remotely fair deal is, or they're pimping the 20 Exceptional uniques (which they use to trade for other uniques, which go towards other uniques, and so on untill they get bored and let their character get erased with 30 hours wasted on getting stuff they never planned on using ) or chipped gems to use in the Horradric Cube.

I've gotten people call me a 'n00b' for re-explaining to them that when I said I was looking for "stuff I can use on my lvl 30 Paladin", I didn't mean sorceress staves or Barbarian helms with character requirements of lvl 50-60. Good god, it was all Stones of Jordan and Exceptional Uniques when I was last there last year. I acutally got a Silks of the Victor (worked well for my Paladin at the time) for dirt-cheap since nobody wanted the regular Uniques anymore. And they thought It odd that I used the Cloudcrack two-handed sword, while everyone else played Paladins accoring to the power-gaming strategies.

Give me a good Neverwinter Nights DM-run persistent world anyday, or hell even Dungeon Siege for that matter. I might just even be on NWN tonight with my Gnomish Paladin. "Juuu-bilation!!"

Now I play PSO:GC...my other, other addiction.

i played d2 and expansion on us west for like 4 yrs but have slowly stopped recently for 2 reasons.

1. being that they havent patched it or anything so hackers are having a field day and its getting worse and worse

2. i basically mastered it anyways as i have almost invincible characters, especially my barbarian which can heal whilst standing in a group of cows

but hey if anyone wants to lvl up or challenge me, im up for it if your on us west

God. I guessed on one or two being French Canadian, though only on the ones who practically wanted the fillings out of my fucking teeth and a blowjob for normal rare/set items.
Alot of the other poor-english speakers were Korean, but they were almost always too reclusive and independent to bother swindleing in another language. Christ, at least they knew we weren't going to bend over backwards and deal with the communication barriers, let alone get cheated.

I haven't played in over a year.

Looks like most of you play in East and/or West.

East is the worse realm in the world.

Come to Europe ...Though...there are bugged and dupes like East but not as much as there are Duped SoJs

P.S.- I play Amazon and Sorceress-----necromancer is the worst char to play in the game. Besides having fun with Corpse Explosion.
